View Full Version : Elle back in Seventeen
Of the small handful of magazines that feature plus-size models this month, the curviest pictures are to be found--surprise surprise--in the August issue of Seventeen.

But perhaps it's not so much of a surprise after all. As we noted in this thread last year, although Seventeen only occasionally features plus-size models in its pages, when it does, the magazine has an amazing track record of finding models who are really quite lovely, and also visibly curvaceous.

By far the most beautiful and popular of the magazine's recurrent models is a voluptuous vixen named Elle. She appears this month in a Seventeen fashion feature, representing "petite & curvy" beauties--which reveals part of the secret of her success, inasmuch as "petite & curvy" is the most attractive feminine body type of all.

You can click on the image above to view it at a larger size, but here is a close-up, showing off Elle's golden tresses, blue eyes, fair skin, shapely figure, and especially, her soft and full facial features. In addition to her Lillian-Russell-like appearance, Elle always looks utterly (and understandably) delighted with herself. No wonder Seventeen keeps asking her to represent plus-size beauty. If she were signed with an agency, she would be a leading contender on our survey page.

Also making a Seventeen appearance this month is a newcomer named Kelly. She may not be quite as curvaceous or opulently gorgeous as Elle, but she is obviously a very pretty and talented model, and provides a fine brunette compliment to Elle's lavish, golden-blonde beauty.

Here is the full-length version of Kelly's page (also clickable for a larger version). This is a denim feature, and Kelly shows off her jeans very effectively. The text on the pages is not altogether favourable, so we have removed the less-positive statements. But the visuals cannot be faulted, and Kelly and Elle amply demonstrate that full-figured girls look far better in denim than do their underweight rivals.

These images provide a fine impression of what Mode's short-lived junior affiliate, Girl magazine, could have looked like, if it had featured genuinely full-figured models. And if anyone is ever considering launching a plus-size teen publication, Seventeen's model choices reveal what a gorgeous creation such a magazine could be.

I agree that Elle is lovely, and has a truly curvy figure. She can inspire women of any age. This is the kind of plus-size model whom the agencies should be representing, instead of the skinny-looking, faux-plus girls who mostly comprise their boards, and don't represent full-figured women at all.

I hope Seventeen continues to use her, and that other clients catch on and feature her, or models with her proprotions and beauty, in the future.
