They're not Christina Schmidt or Kelsey Olson by a long shot, but I have to say, I think two of Torrid's latest finds are genuinely curvy, which is a welcome move by this company.

Here's one of the new talents in two different hairstyles, showing off a sexy halter top:

and a flattering camisole:

She has a great figure- as does the other Torrid newcomer, seen here in a red cami:

I don't know if one would go so far as to designate them "goddesses," but at least it shows that Torrid is beginning to use fuller-figured models again, which is the most important thing.

Still, I wish I could see Christina and Kelsey at Torrid more often- not to mention Alicia, the size 18/20 brunette who had such a cute look...

I agree. I would love to see more of Christina and Kelsey. However, it's also good that they are giving others a chance. Kelsey seems to go through quiet stages, and then pull out lovely photoshoots such as the recent prom and costume series. I guess we'll just have to wait and see whats around the corner!
The first model is named Valerie Flynt, and while Christina, Kelsey, and Hayley are the unsurpassable Torrid favourites, Ms. Flynt has created one of the most sensual test images that we have ever seen from any plus-size model, professional or apprentice:

It is encouraging to see up-and-coming models being creative with their test shoots, in the very best way--producing images of timeless beauty, rather than ugly modern "edginess," and taking full advantage of their soft allure.

This is exactly what everyone needs to be seeing from the plus-size modeling world. Everyone needs to see that these curvy beauties can be just as gorgeous and winsome and appealing as any waif. We big women need this, as well as teenage girls. We have been so made fun of and hurt by unflattering everything - clothes, pictures, skinny everything, everywhere we turn - that to see these real women looking so beautiful and knowing I can look that good too makes me cry. Thank you all for your courage and for showing us what real beauty is.
