View Full Version : Lindsey: Torrid contest
As Torrid vixens are well aware, our favourite junior-plus retailer regularly stages model searches in shopping centres all over the United States.

Torrid recently held such an event in Orlando, Florida, and one of the young women who participated was dazzling young model Lindsey Garbelman.

We recently saw Miss Garbelman paired with Kelsey Olson in the exciting prom campaign for Aurora Formals, and it's safe to say that Lindsey is by far the most attractive and talented model who has ever appeared at one of Torrid's model searches.

Here is her official Torrid headshot, which shows her warm smile and glamorous facial features:

But we are also privileged to share a second Torrid snapshot that Lindsey produced at this event--and it's a Polaroid like none that we have ever seen before.

On this forum, we have recently featured many exciting snapshots from the most popular models in the industry (Kailee, Christina, Valerie, Hayley, etc.), but we must state, unequivocally, that this is quite simply the most gorgeous and thrilling Polaroid that any model has ever created.

Lindsey's beauty veritably radiates from the photograph, like light from the sun. Has there ever been a more intensely "I am gorgeous" pose than this? Her expression says, "You know you want me," and could anyone deny that she is right? Never have we seen any model more obviously delighted with her own curvaceous figure. She proudly shows off her full, shapely arm, rightly presenting it as the focus of the viewer's desire. Her top closely embraces her most sensual feature of all--her soft, generous waist. Her jeans fit snugly around her legs, defining their rounded shape. This image is the very epitome of size celebration. The model is proving to the world that nothing could possibly be more wonderful than being a well-fed goddess such as herself. Has any Sports Illustrated model or Hollywood starlet ever demonstrated so much vanity, so much beauty, in just one photograph? This is the Torrid revolution in a single, defining image.

You can vote for Miss Garbelman as the winner of the Orlando contest at the Torrid link provided below. The thought of Lindsey modelling for that progressive company is an indescribably exciting prospect, and we earnestly hope to see her on the Torrid site in the near future--especially if Michael Anthony can capture her magic on film, the way he did in this Polaroid masterpiece.

Unbelievable! I have been a fan of Lindsey since the first time I saw her in a prom campaign, but this image surpasses all. She looks as if she has restored her figure back to a gorgeous state, and the confidence that she exudes is amazing.

Move over Victoria's Secret angels, because this girl is what real angels should look like.
To accompany this thread, we have a special treat for all Lindsey fans--scans of Lindsey's very first test shoot. These predate even her initial prom campaign, and vividly testify to her precocious talent and extraordinary beauty.

First, a pair of black-and-white headshots. The beauty of Lindsey's face is that it is round and full--ideally so--with a wide mouth, lips that are finely shaped (and not overly large, as one sees in the ugly modern Hollywood trend), perfect eyebrows, and high cheekbones.

Most of these images are smiling shots, but the following rare serious expression shows off Lindsey's facial beauty even more effectively. When she lost weight, Lindsey's facial features suffered as much as her figure did, but now that she has restored her curves, her face has regained its attractive fullness as well.

The only shortcoming of this marvellous initial test is that it doesn't reveal Lindsey's figure--except perhaps for this photograph, which hints at her curves in one area. It is an altogether remarkable image, a motion shot reminiscent of a Maybelline or Cover Girl ad ("Maybe she's born with it"). Lindsey's long tresses are her crowning glory, and this picture indicates why goddesses who trim their hair short deprive themselves of tremendous potential allure. Every man's heart beats faster when he sees a vixen's tresses flowing freely, in this manner.

Lindsey looks ravishing in purple, and her expression in this image is utterly adorable--cute and girlish, and sexy for that very reason. When she poses, she is clearly in her element. Her work looks effortless, and the joy radiates from every image.

Indeed, if there was ever a natural-born model, Lindsey is such a talent. Her poses in this first shoot are as varied and convincing as if she were a veteran of a hundred campaigns. Not a single expression looks forced. They are all professional and note-perfect.

Lindsey's specialty, like Barbara Brickner's, is the big open-mouthed smile, as seen here. Attractive detail: note the trace of curves along the model's back, beneath the jacket.

We must also compliment the photographer for his fine work. He clearly played up Lindsey's youthful charm, and created situations that are innately girlish, such as this playful shot of Lindsey frolicking in a public fountain.

The straight-size industry understands what an asset youth is, and capitalizes on it, while the plus-size industry has hobbled itself by favouring older models over younger ones. Lindsey's pictures testify to the advantages of youthful beauty--its whimsy, its radiance, its health and vitality--and demonstrate yet again why the plus-size industry must turn to younger talent if the full-figured feminine ideal is ever to be restored as society's dominant aesthetic.

We end with a picture of Lindsey in a reflective but still pleasant mood. This entire first shoot amply testified to the model's potential--a potential that was realized in her prom campaigns--but only in her Torrid Polaroid, above, has she really cut loose and exhibited her intoxicating vanity, her complete self-assurance about her sumptuous curves.

We very much wish to see more of Lindsey's work in the near future, and hope beyond hope that she will retain her curvaceous figure.

Thank you very much for these added images. She looks so great right now and I also hope that she will keep the curvaceous figure.
