View Full Version : Whitney in Seventeen

<br>We will have a screencap thread for episode 12 (the penultimate installment of <i>America's Next Top Model</I>) presently, but in the meantime, one can't help enthusing about Whitney Thompson's remarkable success to date.

Whitney has surpassed every other plus-size model who has ever appeared on the show by surviving to the final three.

An actual win by Miss Thompson is simply too much to hope for, and a third-place finish would be all-too-easy for <i>ANTM,</i> since it would mean that she wouldn't be able to walk in the final runway event--a spot that is always reserved for the two finalists. But whatever happens, Whitney's achievements on the program have already been superlative.

In the meantime, here is a scan of Whitney's appearance in this month's issue of <i>Seventeen</I> magazine.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/wt/seventeen01a.jpg"></center></p>We have often praised <i>Seventeen</I> for making excellent choices when it comes to finding plus-size models to grace its pages, and Whitney certainly looks lovely in her photo.

<i>ANTM</I> viewers may recall that Whitney earned this honour as a challenge win, all the way back in <a href="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=1327" target="_blank">episode 7</a>. And while the screecaps of her shoot looked even lovelier than the final photo, Miss Thompson's picture is very pretty.

If only it were possible for her to win the competition, she would make an exceptional <i>Seventeen</I> model, and the first plus-size model ever to appear on the magazine's cover. But alas, the chances that the show could do something so wonderful and revolutionary as to allow a full-figured contestant to win are virtually nil.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy Whitney's current <i>Seventeen</I> appearance. And as it turns out, her picture accompanies a very important article. (Click on the link below to view it at a readable size.) We have often observed that fair skin is the epitome of timeless beauty, and this article indicates why staying out of the sun is not only an excellent policy from an aesthetic standpoint, but could also save your life.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/wt/seventeen02a.jpg"></center><p>- <a href="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/wt/seventeen02.jpg" target="_blank">Click here to view larger</a>

The photo proves she can easily be a CoverGirl. Part of what keeps skin healthy is proper nutrition. Has anyone noticed how awful Fatima's skin is?

That's the Somalian model, right? Her skin is hideous. All jokes aside, she truly does look like an Ethiopian famine victim. Every week, the fashion insiders on the show have been fawning over her, which is complete madness. She doesn't just look unattrative - she looks utterly grotesque. Her complexion is corpse-like, her bones protrude. The idea that anyone could look at her and see "beauty" is absurd. She needs an IV drip.

Then there's the other finalist, the one with the huge nose. She's inoffensive as a person, but she's not even remotely attractive. Again, she has no figure whatsoever, and her face isn't even pretty by minimal straight-size-model standards.

Whenever you see Whitney among the other finalists in the panel, it's really quite a laughable spectacle, because any sane person looking upon those three would see one gorgeous model (Whitney), and two homely, starving girls. That anyone in the fashion business sees any kind of "competition" between beautiful Whitney and those other two just shows how warped and abnormal their perceptions are.

I'll be sure to tune in for the finale on Wednesday, but I'm dreading the idea that Whitney, the only attractive model in the entire competition - and really, in the history of the show - might lose.

Last week they were all, "I look your broken-down waist," to Fatima. Yeah, it looked like her frailty got the best of her and she broke in half. They love that. Meanwhile, I was dry heaving in my living room.

I found a few behind-the-scenes Whitney pictures at the CW site that I think everyone will like.

First, heres a snapshot from the runway show in the second (http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=1305) episode:

Next, a pic of Whitney getting her amazing makeover in the third (http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=1312) episode, which transformed her from a pretty girl into a GODDESS:

Now fast-forward to a few weeks later, episode ten (http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=1341), and a behind-the-scenes look at Whitney getting prepared for her Italian CoverGirl commercial. Notice how much fairer her complexion has become, and how much lovelier she is as a result. She really looks wonderful here:

Then, from episode eleven (http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=1344), heres a shot of Whitney at the Gladiatrix photo challenge (which she won):

And finally, from the most recent episode, here is Whitney being prepped for her shoot. I adore this picture. She looks so young, so innocent - almost child-like. Its an expression that Ive seen from her in the screencaps of the last two episodes, when she was in the bottom two and just barely made it - the look of vulnerability.

I dont dare hope that she could win the competition next week. There is just too much ingrained anti-plus bias in the industry for that to happen. But at least she made it to the final three - and she has shown every viewer what a truly beautiful model looks like.
