View Full Version : Torrid finalist - Lindsey D.

Hey, I don't know if anybody else noticed this at the Torrid site, but they've posted the 20 finalists of this year's Model Search:

No doubt who gets my vote. I think Lindsay D. (bottom row, second from the right) is beautiful!
Well, it's always difficult to tell anything from a single picture, but based on this small photo, she does appear to be quite attractive, with round facial features, blonde tresses, and a fair complexion.

It's a pity that the site doesn't provide full-lengths as well as headshots, as that would offer a good general impression of a model's look.

At any rate, if Lindsay is genuinely as pretty as this photo suggests, then let's hope that Torrid selects her as one of the contest winners.

Before I even scrolled down, I knew that she would be everyone's first choice. The forum has a definite type. LOL.

Most of these images look MySpacey, or like a pose I'd do as a real-estate agent.

Sadly, some of these girls do not look plus-size at all, at least not in the face.
That may be true, insofar as the type that the forum favours is, in fact, the timeless ideal of feminine beauty, which was first enshrined in Classical Antiquity, and has come down through the ages as the epitome of female loveliness, celebrated in every century of Western history prior to the 20th.

A couple of years ago, we traced the delineation of this eternal ideal through various historical writings on aesthetic philosophy. A comprehensive list of the pertinent essays appears here. Note in particular Alexander Walker's treatise, simply titled Beauty, which gives the fullest expression to this ideal.

Among plus-size models, by far the most perfect embodiment of timeless beauty remains model Shannon Marie (see below in a Fashion Bug in-store poster). Golden hair, round facial features, soft limbs, luxurious indolence--every element of Classical perfection is united in her being.

Small wonder, then, that fans enthuse over any model who possesses elements of her gorgeous appearance. It is difficult to tell based on one tiny picture, but Torrid's Lindsay does exhibit traces of that Classical look.

It's so true. Shannon Marie's look is simply incomparable. How I wish she would return to modelling someday.

Here's good news for Lindsay fans, though. She has been selected as one of the finalists, making her the most notable winner of one of Torrid's modelling contests since Jamie M. a couple of seasons ago.

So glad she was selected. Torrid has a page on their site with a few comments from each. I look forward to the forthcoming photoshoot.
We have some thrilling news for fans who have already developed a fondness for Torrid Model Search finalist Lindsay D.--news that will instantly make her one of the most eagerly-anticipated new faces in the industry.

Torrid's own Michael Anthony has informed us that Lindsay stands 5'8 (anything below 5'9 is always splendid) and is . . . (brace yourselves) . . . a size 20.

You are looking at screen captures from a YouTube video. They show a better view of the picture that, for obvious reasons, won this magnificent beauty a place in the Torrid model finals.

As the camera zooms in a little closer, and if we brighten the picture a little, we see Linday's utterly luscious, size-20 curves. Not only is she buxom, but the viewer can perceive the soft fullness of her waist (notice that the belt must ride above it), and the roundness of her abdomen.

For the crowning touch, this colour photograph shows that she has dazzling fair skin, verily as white as snow, and a slightly flushed complexion. Add to that her long, blonde tresses, and we must say that Lindsay is a timeless beauty of the first order.

If Lindsay is as gorgeous in her other pictures as she is in this photo, then we are surely looking at the industry's next great plus-size goddess.

Lindsay is an absolute knockout. Healthy, glowing skin, shining eyes, and a lovely full figure...wow. I wish her all success and hope to see much more of her in the future.

Torrid has now posted the first in a series of videos about the model-search winners:

Unfortunately, there are only a few glimpses of Lindsay, and the video is in the wrong aspect ratio (making everything a bit too horizontally "stretched"), but the few shots there are of her are beautiful. I look foward to seeing more.
