<br>We at The Judgment of Paris would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

As this site enters its second decade, let us hope that the next ten years see real improvement in the presentation of female beauty in the media. This will not happen by climate change, or by continental drift, but only by the efforts of determined individuals who do their part to push the fashion industry into healthier territory.

Whether such change comes about through designers showcasing their wares on larger models, or photographers selecting fuller-figured girls and then shooting them in size-positive ways, or magazines introducing size-celebratory editorials, or advertising executives and marketing managers crafting campaigns with fuller-bodied models, or even government representatives passing legislation to force all of the above to happen, it is long past time for a restoration of timeless beauty to occur.

The predatory diet-starvation and exercise-torture industries will, of course, continue funding bogus studies that fabricate nonexistent weight "epidemics," but it is up to writers and scholars to reveal the falsehood of these claims, and educators to help deprogram the public from this relentless brainwashing.

And yes, even individuals who have no professional involvement with the entertainment world can do their part, by committing their own tiny acts of rebellion--even something as simple as praising full-figured models and actresses everywhere they can on the Web. A thousand tiny nudges from a thousand Internet forums can at least show advertisers that the public is sick of size-0 skeletons, and demands to see plus-size goddesses.

Everyone can do their part to make the world a more beautiful place.

So . . . do it.
