View Full Version : Valerie: Dress Barn & videos
Valerie Lefkowitz appears on the cover and inside the Winter 2009 fashion book for Dress Barn Woman. The dress is pretty, but nothing can compare to Valerie's stunning fuller-figured look in her Lion Brand images from last year, as posted in a recent thread.

The wrap style of this top is very attractive, and the glimpse of decolletage makes it more alluring than such refined items tend to be. Also, the pairing of the top with a skirt was an excellent choice, much more feminine than any slacks option would have been.

- Dress Barn Woman catalogue

* * *

This is as good an opportunity as any to reintroduce two videos of Miss Lefkowitz from years past. As was the case with several other videos that we have recently re-uploaded, we can now offer somewhat longer excerpts from the source material.

First, here is Valerie's appearance on the Today show from August 22nd, 2002. She does a short runway walk for the camera, and although she is merely dressed in a warm-up outfit, she looks stunning. She had a fullness in her face at the time of this video that was highly appealing, and made her the most gorgeous model working at the time.

It's sad to read our original post about this video and to note that even then we were lamenting her smaller size. Who could have known that in a few years, she would regain her curves and beauty, only to diminish herself once more? If only she had remained consistently full-figured . . .

The Judgment of Paris was pleased to bring this commercial to the Web all the way back in 2005, although originally we only uploaded the first 17 seconds. Now, at last, fans can now view the entire half-minute advert. At the time, Valerie was appearing in a major print campaign for Isaac Mizrahi's new line at Target, of which this commercial was one component. It's a clever ad, and Valerie's performance is terrific.

Incidentally, most readers may not realize this, but it often takes considerable effort to obtain these video clips, especially as we are not based in the U.S. In this case, we implored a dear friend to record hours and hours of TV programming, then screen the footage, until finally she happened to tape this commercial. It was no small task, and it was a gesture of great kindness to this site that she did so.

You can read our original write-up about the commercial here, which included several screencaps. The irony is that Valerie actually looks more attractive in her initial waitress costume, which shows off her legs, than she does in Mizrahi's attire.

At least both outfits are pink--an ideal colour for fair-featured models. Also, it's interesting to see that even at that time, the video post was associated with a Dress Barn campaign.
