Making her third annual appearance in Seventeen Prom magazine is the lovely Kelly S. (Images Mgmt, NYC), who has been the face and figure of plus-size fashion in Seventeen for a whole generation of young readers. Kelly looks stunning in a two-image, full-page editorial that not only showcases her beauty, but also provides a valuable lesson in prom styling for curvy girls.

The one-shoulder look that Kelly wears in the top image is an attractive concept for a dress design, and the two examples to the right seem as if they could make fine prom choices. But the number that the young model herself is wearing is not quite as remarkable. Kelly, of course, makes it look as good as anyone could, but somehow, the black colour just doesn't seem festive enough for prom. Also, while the tied-back hairstyle shows off the model's pretty face, somehow it appears too modest for a formal event. Even her figure seems slightly less curvaceous in this picture than it usually does in her Seventeen work (and fans would certainly appreciate Kelly even more if she were fuller-figured).

But now let's take a closer look at the image at the bottom. This is what a prom goddess looks like. Here Kelly's magnificent brunette tresses flow freely over her bare shoulders in romantic waves. The plunging neckline accentuates her voluptuous charms, and displays a seductive expanse of the model's bare neck-and-shoulder area. Kelly's beauty is particularly distinguished by the absence of any trace of a visible clavicle, which is wholly submerged in soft fullness. Her arms are luscious and full. Even through the flowing fabric, one can perceive her generous waist and curvaceous hips. Her facial features appear round, giving her a well-fed look. Even her expression is more dramatic than in the other image. She seems more prideful here, like a lioness; more aware of her own striking beauty; feminine, yet ferocious.

Seventeen deserves endless praise for consistently choosing such an attractive and curvaceous young model to personify today's plus-size girls. This has become one of the industry's most successful model/client partnerships. The magazine's fuller-figured readers are admirably represented by this young model, whose beauty and talent are superlative.

All plus-size beauty aficionados are encouraged by Kelly's success, and look forward even greater prominence for this rising starlet.

Kelly S. is quite possibly my favorite jr plus-size model. As a girl with a decent body of editorial work she rocks amazing styling on a regular basis. It's nice to see someone showing the world how full-figured girls can handle their fashion! Bravo to a fabulous young model!
