A few weeks ago, we posted two of the most popular threads of 2009, both involving the Formal Source, a plus-size label based in Florida. The first featured Katherine Roll and Lindsey Garbelman (both from Model Service Agency, NY) showcasing the company's prom fashions for 2010, and the second spotlighted Katherine modelling the label's bridal designs. Fans were delighted to see genuinely full-figured models in attractive, feminine gowns looking absolutely gorgeous.

We now wish to feature the third series of images of the new Formal Source lines, this showcasing Lindsey's part in the wedding catalogue. While nothing can match Miss Garbelman's current swimwear campaign as a showcase of full-figured beauty, these bridal pictures are lovely, and present the model at her elegant best.

First of all, it is a pleasure to see Lindsey on the cover of the Formal Source catalogue, in a very attractive profile shot.

Many of the gowns look best when seen from the reverse view, like this charming item with lace sleeves.

The most size-positive images in the collection are the ones that show Lindsey modelling the following dress. The profile shot accentuates her buxom curves, and offers a suggestion of her most attractive figure feature, her generous waist.

The dress makes the wearer look just as desirable from every angle. Observe how the soft curves of Lindsey's back swell over the edge of the gown in a sensual manner.

Lindsey offers a great variety of poses in her images, creating many different bridal personae. Here, she creates the impression of a self-assured young bride, at ease with herself, sure of the choice that she had made, and ready to embark on married life.

When seen from the reverse, though, the impression of Lindsey in the same gown is much softer and gentler. This picture displays the beauty of her elegant hairstyle, with its romantically heavy, half-uncurled waves at the ends of the tresses. The richness of the model's brunette hair complements the opulence of the gown.

Lindsey seldom adopts this pose in her modelling work (except in the case of her Torrid Polaroid, which is still one of her all-time greatest pictures), but many of Miss Garbelman's candids show her blowing a kiss in just this manner. Indeed, this may be the model's very best expression--a Lindsey signature--and one would love to see her employ it more frequently. It communicates a degree of self-satisfaction and vanity that is utterly irresistible.

Based on the hairstyle, the following picture might, just might, be from last year's Formal Source campaign, but it still appears in the 2010 catalogue, so we feel justified in including it here. The thickly curled hairstyle is especially attractive, and Lindsey's expression is appealingly coquettish.

The next pose is rather more formal, as is the model's updo. But what makes this image particularly eye-catching is the visible, slight swell at the model's waist. Also, notice the delicate pink cosmetics, which make Lindsey appear charmingly youthful, even girlish--a quality that she plays up with her gentle, demure expression.

Among Lindsey's Formal Source gowns, the following is by far the most attractive and opulent, a masterpiece of lace and taffeta. Notice the sewn-in roses. Only a true plus-size model could present this gown in the appropriate manner, for it is indisputably the attire of a goddess.

Consider how regal and majestic are Lindsey's poses--precisely what the gown warrants. The fullness of the model's figure is of a piece with the volume of the dress, her generous reverse proportions filling out the gown where it needs it, before the fabric opens out into this magnificent train. The soft fleshiness of the model's back completes the look. Protruding scapulae, hallmarks of starvation, would be utterly incongruous with this dress, which speaks of abundance and indulgence.

Turning from the ornate to something simpler, this halter style attractively frames the model's luscious arms and voluptuous contours.

As all halter styles do, it looks even more appealing from the reverse. Again we see the regal elegance of the model's hair arrangement. And notice her pose, a stance that, at first glance, offers the impression that the model is praying. (What could be more fitting, given how angelic Lindsey appears in this dress?) Her facial expression is earnest and engaging.

The final image in this series shows Lindsey is the company's most contemporary design. A simple cut, yet the ruching helps the gown embrace the model's curves, and the strapless, sleeveless style exposes Lindsey's shoulders and arms. Her smug little grin is coy and flirtatious--testifying to a bride with a touch of wickedness in her, one who promises to be a roguish life partner, offering a lifetime of excitement and intrigue.

* * *

Bravo to the Formal Source for enlisting two stunningly beautiful, genuinely full-figured models to showcase its prom and bridal campaigns. Both Katherine and Lindsey are lovely in their own right, but they look especially attractive in these feminine designs.

We hope that these images persuade more labels to employ curvier models when promoting their styles.

Gorgeous pictures from both models. The only thing that would have made this campaign even more perfect is if Formal Source had filmed a behind-the-scenes video to show the making of the shoot. But really, the dresses are lovely, the models stunningly beautiful and curvy - what more could anyone want?

Lindsey's blowing-a-kiss pose is adorable.
