A few months ago, we listed some of the most exciting Australian plus-size models signed with the BGM Models agency, and since that time we have been pleased to note the successes of many of the girls who appeared in our thread.

Luscious Courtney Maxwell (size 18 in Australian numbers, size 16 U.S.) has long been the face (and figure) of City Chic, the "Australian Torrid," having starred in many of that company's videos and look books. Blaise McCann (size 16 Aus., size 14 U.S.) recently appeared in City Chic's acclaimed "Miss Bouquet" video, which was photographed in an Arcadian formal garden and showcased pretty romantic tops and dresses. Sakina Czubowski has also worked for City Chic, and although her particular campaign was regrettably modern, her stunning test images show that she rivals Courtney as having the best figure of any BGM talent.

We are now delighted to spotlight the work of another model whom we singled out in our thread: Tenille Roberts. Although Tenille is only an Australian size 14, her 5'5" height means that she does display visible curves. If only she were to become a tad fuller figured, reaching an Australian size 16 (U.S. size 14) at least, she would be one of the most significant plus-size models in the world--bar none.

As it is, she already surpasses all of her peers in terms of sheer beauty and ranks as the loveliest Australian plus-size model. Her look is a combination of the finest features of Kailee O'Sullivan and Kelsey Olson. Could any modelling pedigree possibly be more exciting than that?

These images show Tenille in a recent issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, looking irresistibly vain and spoiled, her lips pressed into an adorably pouty smile. Even the text is favourable, approving of models who are "busty" and have "bigger hips" (qualities that specifically distinguish this young goddess). The magazine's endorsement of '50s styles as ideal for voluptuous vixens, and its admonition against androgynous '20s fashions, is exactly right. The page juxtaposes Miss Roberts with Marilyn Monroe, but let's be clear--Marilyn on her best day couldn't hold a candle to Tenille's delicious beauty.

Observe how the page focusses the viewer's attention directly on Tenille's soft, full arms. Combine this curvaceousness with the model's intoxicating air of self-adoration, and the result is a thrilling celebration of plus-size beauty.

Still more intriguing than her Cosmo tear, however, is a new series of test images in Tenille's online portfolio that demonstrate how much more attractive she has become, and how much her work has matured, even from the time that we posted our BGM thread earlier this year.

This first pair of new images shows Tenille channelling Kailee O'Sullivan, even to the point of wearing a vintage hair accessory such as Kailee has sported in numerous campaigns.

However, her Kelsey-like flowing blonde tresses give her qualities that even Kailee does not possess. Tenille is at once angelic, thanks to her fair hair, yet dangerous, as evidenced by the fetching glint of wickedness in her eyes.

Lest there were any doubt that Tenille is the most stunning of all Australian goddesses, this image indisputably proves it. Her luxurious blonde locks flow over her shoulders in the manner of a fairy-tale princess, yet the hungry expression in her steamy eyes suggests a desirably spoiled quality. The wardrobe styling plays up her naughty side, as the closely fitted top defines her buxom contours while the alluring fishnet stockings show off her womanly hips and thighs. This appetitive nymphet is not above playing on her seductive charms to get whatever she wants.

In many ways, this new test series from Tenille is a kind of coming-out party, a debut, as it were, showing that the precocious Miss Roberts is not only capable of looking sweet and innocent (as she does in her celebrated junior-plus work), but can also exude mature seductiveness. In this image she holds nothing back, openly flaunting her sinful curves while exuding raw sensuality.

For readers whose monitors have low gamma contrast, this brightened version of the same image shows how the model's pose boldly displays her voluptuous contours. A model as stunningly beautiful as Tenille could easily "rest on pretty," but she doesn't; she displays phenomenal modelling talent in her poses and expressions.

Even when Miss Roberts flashes a smile, she infuses it with her coquettish personality, adding a captivatingly minx-like quality to the overall effect. Here she appears delightfully girlish, yet with an unmistakably mischievous side as well. The wardrobe plays up the impish impression, from the fishnets to the lacy top that subtly discloses the bustier beneath. Her kittenish grin, and the presence of a mysterious black cat in the foreground of the image, calls to mind another '50s/'60s starlet (one who was far curvier and more beautiful than Marilyn), Kim Novak.

This still from the 1958 romantic drama Bell, Book, and Candle shows Novak as a seductive young witch with her feline familiar. Tenille, however, would need no such sorcery, for her bewitching curves would be more than sufficient to cast a spell upon any viewer.

* * *

Captivating as the above images are, however, BGM decided to go one step further in showcasing the blossoming beauty of its budding young starlet, taking Tenille to the famous beaches of the Australian coast to shoot some breathtaking outdoor images.

First we see a casual picture showing that Miss Roberts can do "commercially pretty" better than any other model down under.

Next, in this intensely sensual image, the model rests in the sand, looking off into the distance, as her open robe displays her voluptuous décolletage. Notice the dazzling fairness of her complexion. Her fair skin creates an impression of delicacy and vulnerability that heightens the sensuality of the image, as does her soft, childlike, golden hair.

And now, finally, for the pièce de résistance, Tenille produces two images that rival Kelsey Olson's red-bathing-suit photos as the greatest plus-size swimwear images of all time. With her blonde tresses flowing over her shoulders, her fair skin glowing in the sunlight, her soft curves gently embraced by her black swimsuit, this is a definitive image of Classical beauty. Notice the look of entreaty in the model's eyes. This vulnerability creates a yearning in the viewer to protect the model and take care of her, giving her everything that she could ever want, treasuring her and keeping her safe. Nothing could be more alluring than this seeming helplessness coupled with such physical robustness.

The desire on the part of the viewer to rescue Tenille and cherish her is not a random impulse. It is a function of the artistry of the image, which consciously echoes one of the great Classical themes of Western art: Perseus rescuing the princess Andromeda from the sea serpent of Poseidon. Notice how Tenille holds her hands behind her back, as if she were chained to the rocks, just as Andromeda is bound in every depiction of the myth. Here, for example, is the 1602 painting Perseus Rescuing Andromeda by Guiseppe Cesari:

Nevertheless, however pretty the original princess Andromeda may have been, she could never have approached Miss Roberts in beauty. Indeed, no one save Helen of Troy, or Venus herself, could match Tenille's loveliness. A closer image even better showcases the model's soft, luscious figure, so lovingly embraced by her swim garment. Observe how her golden tresses cascade loosely over her shoulders, with a stray lock even falling between her buxom curves, drawing the viewer's gaze. This image also showcase the model's doll-like face, so round and pretty, with high cheekbones softened by facial fullness. And consider her expression. Unlike in the previous image, where she appeared so vulnerable, imploring the viewer to protect her, now she appears pleased and self-satisfied, as if her neediness was a ruse of enticement designed to capture the viewer's heart (a ruse that surely worked).

Once again, for the benefit of readers whose monitors have low gamma contrast, here is a brightened version of Tenille's photograh. Although she is a tad slim for a plus-size model, her figure is alluringly soft and untoned, with a natural rondeur around her middle which the swimsuit lovingly displays. She could easily blossom into a curvier size, making her beauty unsurpassable.

Tenille Roberts is easily the most attractive of all Australian plus-size models, and quite simply one of the most gorgeous women in the world. At 5'5, she could also be the breakthrough model who finally proves that plus-size goddesses do not require the Amazonian height of their underweight rivals, but can achieve success at a more natural stature.

Not only is Tenille extraordinarily lovely, but, as her latest images demonstrate, she is also an exceptionally talented model who can generate a host of different looks and expressions, from adorable prettiness to the steamiest sensuality. We eagerly look forward to her future successes.

That picture also reminds me of one of the first Kelsey Olson images I ever saw, the one showing her alongside an adorable puppy.

The two pictures wonderfully play up the models' different characters (or at least their different personas): Kelsey is sweet and pretty, an angel on earth, with the playful pup as her representative, while Tenille is more of a jade, a saucy minx, as exemplified by her more mysterious companion.

Both models are absolutely adorable, just in slightly different ways.

Many of the historical depictions of Perseus rescuing Andromeda are truly beautiful. However, I suspect that most readers today will be better acquainted with the story from its depiction in the two Clash of the Titans movies. While these films stray from the myth in some respects (e.g., in the original story, Poseidon's sea serpent is called the Cetus, not the Kraken), many of the original elements, such as Perseus's use of the Gorgon's head to defeat the foe, have been retained -- which testifies to the intrinsic appeal of Greek myth.

The special effects of the 1981 version are terrible by modern standards, but the movie does have its strong points. Most notably, the lovely blonde Andromeda in this film is much, much more beautiful than the Andromeda in the remake. Also, the 1981 film depicts Andromeda as bound to a cluster of rocks by the seacoast, as per the tradition in Western art, and as depicted in Tenille's photograph:

The remake does the binding scene somewhat differently -- and not as well.

All in all, the new version is a darker and more serious movie, better in many but not in all respects.

One thing it does have to recommend it is a splendidly reimagined Kraken, one who is more like an actual sea serpent (as the Cetus of the original myth was supposed to be, and in tune with Kraken lore). Indeed, the new Kraken is much as I've always imagined Lovecraft's Cthulhu would be, and I can almost hear Liam Neeson intoning, "Release the Cthulhu."

I think she's young and vibrant and interesting. Certainly those are qualities that will only serve to benefit the plus-size industry. She has a lot of potential and it will be interesting to see how her career progresses.

The BGM Models Facebook page has an album featuring larger versions of a number of images in this thread, including the first of Tenille's two "Andromeda" swimwear shots.

http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=34295&id=54882304981

It also includes, as a bonus, a photograph that was not included in the original post - a colour version of her outfit with the eye-catching vintage-style hair accessory.

Gorgeous. If Tenille would allow her figure to fill out a little bit more, and go up a size or two, she would be Australia's answer to Kelsey Olson (although it also would be exciting for Kelsey to shoot in Australia someday!). Tenille is stunning.
