Christina Schmidt fans--whose numbers are limitless--will be delighted to know that her official demo ''reel" (the acting equivalent of a model's portfolio) was recently entered in a Canadian film competition known as the YoungCuts Film Festival.

And naturally, she won.

The festival's Web site describes the event thus:

YoungCuts Film Festival is an event showcasing young filmmaking talent. The Festival features films produced by teenagers and young adults ages 14 to 24 years old and serves as a launch pad for young film careers, providing exposure and recognition for some of the most exciting new talent in film from Canada and around the globe.

Christina was interviewed for this festival, and the transcript of that interview appears here. In it, the actress refers to some of her favourite movies, and shares a few more thoughts about the profession. Apparently, Christina may also appear in a future issue of Tribute magazine (www.tribute.ca), which is the custom publication of the Canadian film industry.

Stay tuned . . .

Congratulations to Christina on this win. I hope we get to see her in a feature film someday. I know its too much to wish for, but I would really, really love to see her in a period piece. She was born to play Isolde, or Helen of Troy, or some goddess of the past. There is no actress today that has a face as pretty as she does, and definitely none that have a figure as curvy as hers. Plus, her interview statements suggest that she actually knows how gorgeous she is, and will therefore keep her curves, and not starve to fit into the stick-thin Hollywood image.

I also hope we get to see more of her at Torrid. She is such an amazing model.
