View Full Version : A Valentine's Day Idyll
One of the interesting consequences of interviewing plus-size models on notable days of the year is that those days forever become associated in one's mind with the goddesses in question.

The Yuletide, for example, will now always be linked with Kelsey Olson, after our having interviewed the flaxen-haired beauty at Disneyland during the Christmas holidays.

Saint Valentine's Day, on the other hand, will ever be associated with Kailee O'Sullivan. As established forum readers may recall, it was our great privilege to meet Kailee for a one-on-one chat at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2009. The very idea still fills us with wonder: interviewing a plus-size goddess in one of the world's greatest art museums, a veritable temple to the very beauty that she personally incarnates, a repository of countless masterpieces that have immortalized the loveliness of full-figured goddesses, of which she herself is a living example. It is as if one of the sculptures were to come to life and begin sharing her thoughts (although not even the whitest marble is as fair as Miss O'Sullivan).

The interview also evokes Valentine's Day thoughts because a museum filled with masterpieces of classical beauty (among them any plus-size models in the building at the time) is just about the most romantic spot on earth. Some of the younger readers of the Judgment of Paris are fond of a current television show called Pretty Little Liars. Apparently, the most intriguing aspect of the program is that it presents a love affair between a male English teacher and one of his female students. For the couple's first bona fide date, we are told, the teacher takes his beloved . . . to a museum. Even the younger generations, it seems, can respond to the innate romance of a gallery setting.

Therefore, on this Valentine's Day, as on every such day for ever afterwards, we encourage our readers to click on the link below and to enjoy, once more, the unique experience of learning about a plus-size model in an edifice that celebrates the timeless beauty that she herself embodies.
