Imagine if a plus-size model were to appear on a famous TV show such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?--what a boost that would be for the visibility of Classical feminine beauty.

Well, that is essentially happened just a few short weeks ago in Australia. Better still, it featured the most gorgeous plus-size model currently working in the land down under: Bella Models' stunning size-16 beauty, Hayley B.

The Australian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is called Millionaire Hot Seat, and differs from its American counterpart in several important ways. The competitors have no lifelines and face a strict time limit in answering questions. The result is a much faster-paced competition than the ABC game show delivers.

It will come as no surprise to Hayley's many fans that she looked absolutely dazzling on the program. Video footage invariably provides a more accurate sense of a model's look than even the finest still images can offer, and Hayley is truly beautiful. She resembles a young Lisa Whelchel, the actress who played the deliciously vain, spoiled, gorgeous Blair Warner on The Facts of Life.

Hayley's navy-blue outfit sets off her long, golden tresses. She possesses ideally round facial features, with high cheekbones softened by facial fullness, and a sensual curve under the chin.

Born model that she is, (although, curiously, she does not acknowledge modelling as her profession, but only discloses that she is a university student,) Hayley coquettishly makes fetching, feminine gestures in preparation for her grilling, such as playing with her princess-like tresses.

As in the American version of the program, the initial questions in Hot Seat are designed to be very simple, to allow children watching the show to delight in knowing the answers to a number of queries.

Hayley, it turns out, is very eloquent and articulate on camera, and just as telegenic as she is photogenic. Her Australian accent is completely charming. At certain points, viewers might detect an affinity between her pronunciation of certain words and the Northern Irish accent of Charlotte Coyle.

Hayley has a soft, serene quality to her that makes her very relaxing to view. In terms of her wardrobe, fans might have wished that she had donned a sleeveless outfit. However, in Australia, where the seasons are reversed, it is currently the dead of winter, so heavier, darker-coloured fashions prevail.

What makes Hayley especially attractive from the point of view of timeless beauty is the visible fullness in her face, the decadently well-fed look that is reminiscent of Lillian Russell, not to mention the goddesses of the Renaissance and Baroque.

Hayley navigates her way through the first round with ease. One begins to hope that she might become the show's first-ever million-dollar winner.

What makes the program a challenge for any participant is the variety of topics. Just as a layman might find himself stumped about a matter of literary esoterica, a scholar might get tripped up on a question about pop culture.

The burning-fuse graphic on screen indicates the extremely limited time frame that contests are given in which to present their final answers. Note the gorgeous fullness of Hayley's face in this still.

By the time of the first commercial, Hayley has reached the $4,000 mark. But just as her prospects seem bright, she encounters a stumbling block.

Are you stumped by the following query? Had we been there, we would have been stymied by this question as well, given that it concerns some sort of advertising campaign that is local to Australia. Poor Hayley cannot divine the correct response. But observe how attractive she looks, even in her puzzlement, with a hint of a flush at the cheeks and an opulent curve under her chin.

Although it is a shame to see her winning streak come to an end, watch how adorable her reaction is when she slips up. She appears utterly mortified,

and even a tad embarrassed. But in our opinion, she should feel very proud of herself. She answered every reasonable query with ease, even the math problem (which was a bit of a trick question), and was only curtailed by a truly irrelevant bit of trivia.

Most important of all, she did a fine job of representing curvy women on prime-time television. She looked absolutely gorgeous--certainly more attractive than any actress currently appearing on Australian TV--and visibly full-figured. One only wishes that she had identified herself as a plus-size model, for then, her impact on the public would have been even more significant and subversively pro-curvy.

Below is the video of Hayley's appearance on Hot Seat. She may not have won the top prize, but there is no question that, in the common parlance, she "looked like a million dollars."

- Hayley B.
