At last, the long-awaited Spring 2012 campaign from Anna Scholz, featuring the gorgeous Sophie Sheppard, which has been eagerly anticipated since we first posted about it last July, has debuted, and the images are every bit as stunning as fans expected.

First, we find Sophie modelling a Double Silk Deep Pleat Dress in our Web site's favourite shade of royal purple. Miss Sheppard's sinuous contours are perfect for showing off this snake print. The dress closely embraces the model's luscious figure, defining her splendid curves.

Moving in close, the viewer marvels at the soft fairness of the model's peaches-and-cream complexion, the ideal canvas for showing off any garment. The pink lip colour, the whisper of blush at the cheeks, and the lilac-hued earrings all harmonize with the violet hue of the fabric. The deep V neckline of the dress offers a sensual, yet tasteful view of the model's décolletage. Miss Sheppard's demeanour is posed and aristocratic, yet gentle. If there is any goddess who possesses the "princess gene," it is Sophie.

The reverse view shows how the perfectly fitted dress embraces and celebrates the model's generous hinder curves. The golden shoes and the ring, like the model's fair tresses, play off against the hue of the print in a complementary manner.

A closer view showcases the irresistibly sensual detail of a luscious curve under the model's chin--the most attractive of facial features in true plus-size models--as well as a hint of round fullness at the model's sides, right at the waist. Brilliant model that she is, Sophie introduces personality even into this back view, by turning her head to the side and offering a captivating glance that is coy, yet inviting, and filled with feminine mischief.

Next, we find Miss Sheppard introducing a Circle Georgette Maxi Dress. This is an uncommonly feminine design from Anna Scholz--a very welcome development in her oeuvre--and Sophie, with her girlish nature, is naturally the perfect model to show it off. The ruffles at the neckline are a charming touch, but what particularly distinguishes this item from other maxi dresses, and makes it appealing even to customers who generally do not favour maxi styles, is the embellishment at the hem.

A closer view of Sophie illustrates the item's most appealing aspect of all: the fact that it is sleeveless, and thus shows off the model's soft, shapely, attractively untoned arms. The monochrome hue makes the fabric an effective frame for showcasing the loveliest aspect of the overall look: the model's exquisitely fair complexion, the natural "plump and pink and flaxen attributes" (to use the words of Charlotte Brontë) that distinguish the perfect English Rose. Sophie's facial features exhibit an attractively well-fed look, while her expression is confident, but pleasurably docile and fawn-like.

A reverse-view image offers another look at the item's attractive styling elements, particularly the captivating, feminine trim. The product description reads, "Raw-edged silk georgette circles are sewn into rows at the hem, creating a unique tiered feature which flutters dynamically when you move." How one wishes that Anna Scholz had also offered brief videos of Sophie in this item. The sight of the model in motion, in this dress, would have been a wonder to behold.

Drawing nearer to Sophie (and who could resist doing so?), one sees the doll-like fullness of her facial features. Her expression is captivatingly enigmatic, a touch of petulance adding a darker hue to her persona, introducing the hint of a spoiled nature that makes princesses so beguiling. Her eyes are as fair as the deep-blue ocean.

Third in the trio of new images of Sophie at Anna Scholz is this presentation of the line's Cornelli Shrug. This too represents a softer femininity in the designer's oeuvre. The swirling rosettes have an almost folkloric feel. Miss Sheppard, with her robust, Old World beauty, is unquestionably the ideal model to showcase a piece with such a vintage, handcrafted quality. Her facial features exhibit the robust fleshiness that distinguished both noble princesses and rustic village maidens in times gone by. Her golden tresses swirl around her face in a manner that echoes the eddying design of the rosettes in the fabric. In this image of monochrome black against light skin tone and fair hair, her ripe red-hued mouth stands out vividly, signalling appetitive desire, with her lips slightly parted, as if inviting a kiss.

If we brighten the image somewhat, we also find attractive details in the outfit that the model wears under her shrug, such as the ruching at the bust--so flattering on a voluptuous goddess like Sophie--as well as a sensual hint of roundness at the model's midsection.

The reverse view completes the 360-degree perspective on the shrug, but it also showcases Miss Sheppard's venture into more exciting modelling territory. Perhaps channelling her passionate red lip colour, she adopts a fierce, hungry look, rapacious and insatiable, a touch of exciting selfishness and wickedness--traits which, in a goddess so beautiful, only add to her appeal. Beneath her aristocratic demeanour, Sophie's persona has a wild, carnal side. Her golden hair flows heavily over her shoulders in half-uncurled waves, communicating a sense of sensually indolent heaviness.

Bravo to Miss Sheppard for achieving such remarkable artistry in these commercial images, elevating them to a level of distinction far beyond most models' editorial work. And kudos to Anna Scholz for designing such attractive pieces and for selecting arguably the world's most gorgeous plus-size model to show them off--one who possesses precisely the kind of genuinely full-figured physique that the public has been seeking.

Sophie is both ideally beautiful and physically relatable to full-figured women, and given that she embodies timeless beauty in every detail, and that her talent for posing and expressiveness is second to none, she is the ideal plus-size model.

All three pieces are stunning, and all six images of Sophie are incredibly gorgeous. She truly is the perfect plus-size model, with a legitimately full figure and the kind of breathtaking beauty that no one could possibly deny. She's an angel, a goddess.

My favourite item so far is definitely the purple dress. It reminds me very much of the dress that Sophie wore on the runway at Curves in Couture (http://www.judgmentofparis.com/board/showthread.php?t=2349):

http://i40.tinypic.com/1z6b22v.jpg

http://i42.tinypic.com/2qwgems.jpg

The prints and colours are different, but the cut of both appears very similar, with the deep V. The length is similar, as are the sleeves. Looking at how stunning Sophie appeared in the brown dress in the Curves in Couture videos gives a clear idea, then, of how deliciously body-conscious and figure-accentuating the purple dress would be.

I hope we'll be seeing more images of Sophie modelling for Anna Scholz. The dresses look like they were made for her. She is completely beguiling in each.
When, earlier in this thread, we likened Sophie Sheppard to the gorgeous coquette Ginevra Fanshawe in Charlotte Brontë's novel Villette, with her "plump and pink and flaxen" attributes, never did we imagine that designer Anna Scholz had an utterly perfect concoction in mind for garbing the model in a manner that would directly reference Brontë's colour scheme.

This, at last, is what fans have been longing to see: Sophie in candy pink, in a Georgette Dress--by far the prettiest item that Anna Scholz has yet designed. No model could better suit this item than Miss Sheppard, whose golden tresses, blue eyes, and fair complexion complement this girlish colour to perfection.

Yes, here she is: Ginevra Fanshawe of 2012, the Victorian vixen brought to life and embodied as a living, breathing goddess of today.

We can attest, from personal experience, that this image gives a truer indication of Sophie's radiant, real-life appearance than any other photograph yet published. Marvel at the sheer, hypnotic hugeness of her sapphire eyes, and dream the rest of your lives of kissing those full, red lips. Observe how her facial features exhibit the supermodel attributes of high cheekbones, yet also how the sensual weight in her face agreeably softens this bone structure, giving her the robust, well-fed look that is the epitome of timeless feminine beauty. The tresses cascade like a waterfall of gold around her shoulders. The skin tone rivals the hue of the dress in its pink fairness.

The promotional copy which accompanies this Anna Scholz item is just about the most poetic text that we have ever read on a commercial Web site, and was obviously inspired by Sophie's delectable beauty:
Got a sweet tooth for the perfect summer dress? Then you'll love this mouth-watering candy-pink number. The georgette tailoring fabric is light and silky with a bit of stretch to move with you. Angled pleats meet at an off-centre panel at the fitted empire line, creating texture and drama across the below-knee-length wrap-style skirt. You'll turn heads with the seamed, shaped bust. Featuring wide shoulder straps, it has plenty of retro Marilyn appeal! Get ready for a few indecent proposals and unsolicited phone numbers when you vamp it up with kitten-heeled mules and red lip colour.Needless to say, it is the delicious Sophie herself who makes this item look so "mouth-watering," with her berry lip colour and peaches-and-cream complexion adding tantalizing flavour to her candy-coloured dress.

The model's physique looks so sensually soft, one that imagines it would have the same consistency as strawberry ice cream. Observe the dimpled flesh of her arms and the luscious curve under her chin. The most size-celebratory aspect of the presentation is that by associating the dress, and Sophie, with delectable desserts, Anna Scholz subconsciously allows curvy girls to realize that it is by partaking in precisely such savoury indulgences that they, like Brontë's Miss Fanshawe, can grow curvier and more beautiful over time and acquire Sophie's delicious curves.

Miss Sheppard also models a second new item at Anna Scholz: a Georgette Two-Tone Cowl Dress. The nude fabric of the top half blends seamlessly into the model's fair skin tone, creating a soft, dreamy effect. The length of the bottom half is abbreviated enough to show off Sophie's shapely legs.

In this gentle yet sober outfit, Sophie encapsulates how a legitimately full-figured plus-size model can enhance the appeal of an outfit, even if her figure is not clinically displayed. Her look is sophisticated and elegant--a polished, stately grace that bespeaks wealth and privilege--yet she also exudes a hale, robust fleshiness that humanizes the effect and creates an irresistibly sensual impression.

The Anna Scholz promotional copy once again saucily invokes delicious food references, which inevitably spring to mind when viewing the well-fed opulence of Miss Sheppard:
This is one of Anna's absolute must-have dresses for the season. It is an all-ingredients-included recipe for making you the hottest dish on the menu! One look at Sophie would confirm her as the most succulent goddess in any setting, and this attractively sleeveless item would further enhance her irresistible appeal.

Observe the sensually dimpled flesh of the model's arms, the fullness of her facial features, and, most seductive of all, the hint of soft contours along her back. Anna Scholz deserves limitless credit for not airbrushing away these alluring traits of plus-size beauty, but allowing Sophie's savoury, voluptuous beauty to be amply displayed.

Each new item that Anna Scholz unveils appears lovelier than the last, when modelled on the gorgeous Sophie Sheppard. We eagerly look forward to further images from this exciting model/client pairing.

At last, in Sophie, fate delivered into the hands of the British plus-size modelling industry a goddess who is both gorgeous and truly full-figured, leaving U.K. labels with no plausible excuse to resort to faux-plus frauds. As Miss Sheppard demonstrates, all outfits--but especially body-conscious dresses--look far more appealing on true plus-size models than on lanky, semi-curvy near-waifs. No wonder the public has yearned to see fuller-figured girls in advertising directed toward them: they know that such shapely goddesses actually exhibit clothing better than do their meagre rivals. Sophie makes this point incontestable.

Sophie is soooo beautiful.

Because of her, I signed up for the Anna Scholz e-mail list, and I'm glad I did, because today, I received an intriguing ad in which Sophie features prominently.

Interestingly, this is the second time that I've seen a promotion in which Miss Sheppard is associated with the Oscars. I expect it's because anyone who sees her cannot help but associate her with vintage Hollywood glamour. With her soft features and shapely figure, Sophie far more closely resembles the silver-screen goddesses of yore than the malnourished waifs who star in feature films today.

http://i43.tinypic.com/110j7fs.jpg

I like the concept of the ad -- that Academy Awards are being given out for the finest in plus-size fashion (best dress, best print, etc.).

http://i44.tinypic.com/29vf6fr.jpg

One thing's for sure -- if the Oscars had a category for "Most gorgeous plus-size model," Sophie would be a lock to win.
Each of the dresses that appear in the Anna Scholz Oscar ads is now available online, including the Crepe Frill Maxi Dress.

Sleeveless, with a plunging neckline, and feminine ruffles--the dress is an ideal frame for Sophie's luscious figure, baring her shapely arms and generous décolletage. By the slight turn of her body, she gives a touch of extra emphasis to her buxom charms.

The next item is dubbed a Digital Jersey Maxi Dress, no doubt the "digital" referring to its geometric print and to its colour scheme, the teal/orange binary hues which are the hallmarks of the digital grading with which all motion pictures are now colour processed.

Fortunately, while this colour scheme distinguishes the print of the dress, Sophie herself is pictured with her natural, fair skin tone. All of the Anna Scholz sleeveless designs look terrific on her, given the soft fullness of her lovely arms, which she so proudly displays.

As we have noted before, Anna Scholz deserves great acclaim for not airbrushing her online catalogue images one iota, but allowing Sophie's natural beauty to be truthfully exhibited.

The eponymous cowl design of this Crepe Double Layer Cowl Dress takes some of the fabric away from the model's body, but observe that Sophie's luscious figure nevertheless shapes the dress into a womanly form in the area where it counts most: in her generous hips. The result is a seductive, Classical outline.

No wonder this image inspired an Oscars-related promotional graphic from Anna Scholz. Sophie's carefully coiffed hair and glamorous red lip colour, as well as her dramatic pose, create a vivid sense of silver-screen glamour. Miss Sheppard embodies what movie starts once looked like, when Hollywood created living goddesses who were the unattainable beauty icons of their time.

Yet no celluloid starlet was ever as lovely as Sophie. Observe the carnal passions that she channels in this riveting pose, smouldering for the camera with a gaze that could melt the film stock. The dress acknowledges the model's ample reverse-view curves.

In addition to the Oscar-oriented dresses, Anna Scholz has now released several examples of daywear. And for all that Sophie is renowned for her dramatic, glamourous beauty, she proves to be equally adept at showing off these casual items, such as this attractive Anchor Button Dress.

The nude colour perfectly complements Sophie's peaches-and-cream complexion, allowing her slightly flushed apple cheeks to catch the viewer's attention in an irresistible manner. The model's fair skin makes her the perfect canvas for showing off every manner of garment.

Notice how Sophie appropriately eases off of the sinfully seductive looks that she adopted for the evening items in the Anna Scholz collection and adopts a softer, gentler mien, entirely in keeping with the intended context of the outfit.

Although Anna Scholz is known for her dresses, she is equally adept at creating pretty tops, such as this Crepe Double V Top.

The fascinating neckline ensnares the viewer's attention. The strands of the upper V draw the eye downwards into model's deep décolletage. Sophie's demeanour is calm and pretty, for she knows that she doesn't need to add a steamy glance to increase her already high-temperature allure. She allows her figure, so bewitchingly exhibited by the top, to accomplish the seduction.

The V at the back of the top functions as a visual echo of the neckline, thus creating an appealing symmetry in the design.

The final new item in the collection is a Linen Polo Shirt. The piece is simple, therefore to liven up the overall look, the stylist has added an eye-catching splash of colour via the model's attention-getting red shoes.

The shoes complement her cherry-red lip colour as well as the decorative ring on her finger. Sophie's expression is fittingly breezy and relaxed, thus communicating how the customer herself can expect to feel in this comfortable item.

Sophie is acknowledged to be one of the most beautiful women ever photographed and is blessed with a particularly attractive profile. No wonder she gladly shows it off in so many of these reverse-view product images. All models should take note of this technique, for by such a simple turn of the head, they can render a back-view photograph a memorable presentation of their beauty, and also make the image more compelling to the viewer.

We continue to be enthralled by the artistry of Sophie's images for Anna Scholz. Far from being a mere catalogue shoot, these photographs surpass, in beauty and captivation, even the costliest campaigns in exotic locales--all thanks to Miss Sheppard's extraordinary loveliness and remarkable talent.

Two of the items that Anna Scholz most recently released feature in a brand-new e-mail circular that I received yesterday.

The "Georgette Tailoring Anchor Button Dress" appears with a graphic that shows off the ever-so-cute anchor buttons that give the dress its name. What a lovely detail. And yes, Sophie looks adorable in this item.

http://i42.tinypic.com/neiy4g.jpg

The Linen Polo Shirt shows up in the second graphic - and if you're like me, you did a double take when you saw this image. Yes, those drawn-in glasses over the other model appear in the original e-mail ad. The idea, I imagine, is that someone at work has been naughty with the mouse shown in the graphic and has doodled over a photograph. Not the usual, predictable ad, that's for sure! The mouse has even been rendered with whiskers like. . .well, like a mouse. At any rate, Sophie looks terrific in the shirt.

Anna Scholz has added another item in its new "digital" print modelled by Sophie: a "Digital Jersey Tuck Pleat Dress":

The point stated earlier about how this teal/orange binary has come to define the look of modern filmmaking is all too true:

The next item is dubbed a Digital Jersey Maxi Dress, no doubt the "digital" referring to its geometric print and to its colour scheme, the teal/orange binary hues which are the hallmarks of the digital grading with which all motion pictures are now colour processed.

Fortunately, while this colour scheme distinguishes the print of the dress, Sophie herself is pictured with her natural, fair skin tone. All of the Anna Scholz sleeveless designs look terrific on her, given the soft fullness of her lovely arms, which she so proudly displays.
I remember reading a very witty and informative web log about the process:

Instead of a beautiful range of cinematography, most films now limit themselves to two hues: teal/green and amber/orange.

The worst is what this does to skin tones. Everyone ends up looking like George Hamilton, or like the cast of Jersey Shore:

The linked post includes a series of witty examples showing how horrible the visual world around us would look if everything was slathered over with this ugly teal/orange digital grading:

Why does Hollywood do this? The root of the problem is identified in the article, when it states that "flesh tones exist mostly in the orange range." Uh, no, they don't! Only in Hollywood, with its tanorexic culture, would anyone think that flesh tones are supposed to be "orange." Yuck!

But then, it's not unreasonable to speculate that Hollywood is deliberately adopting teal/orange digital grading precisely to eliminate the very existence of white skin in movies. The left-coast film industry has always had an anti-WASP, anti-Northern-European agenda, and this is likely just the latest manifestation of it.

A teal/orange print may make for an interesting dress, but I'm glad that the Anna Scholz photograph was shot with natural colours, showing Sophie's gorgeously fair skin tone.

The second item is called a "Double Silk Frill Tunic." The word "frill" right away grabs my attention.

The pink hues in the print go very well with Sophie's fair complexion, which shows a hint of a rosy colouring at the cheeks.
