View Full Version : Kelsey Olson: "sweetly voluptuous"

24th January 2006, 13:02
<br>Of all of the models on this site, the one who inspires more reader enquiries than any other is the ravishing Kelsey Olson.

And impossible as this may seem, every time new images of Kelsey debut, she appears to become more beautiful still, further challenging Shannon Marie's status as the most gorgeous plus-size model of all time.

One admirer of the film <i>Tristan & Isolde</i> called Sophia Myles <i>"sweetly voluptuous,"</i> and the description even better suits Miss Olson, who resembles the "fair Isolde," but is still more attractive, and perfectly embodies the fairy-tale princesses whom the Minnesänger exalted in their medieval romances.

We have seen Kelsey in the scarlet robes of a seductress, but in this series, we see her in soothing blue, truly resembling an angel who has descended from heaven, to grace mankind.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/blueangel01.jpg"></center><p>But no heavenly cherubim was ever as lovely as Miss Olson, whose beauty is so unearthly, that it seems to be the product of a waking dream. The viewer can only wonder if the images before his eyes will shortly vanish, unable to endure in the material world.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/blueangel02.jpg"></center><p>This series also gives us a rare, fuller-length view of Kelsey, which easily wins her the crown of the loveliest "prom princess" of all, even among the most alluring of plus-size models. Her figure exhibits an unqualified perfection which surpasses that of any sculpture of Aphrodite from Classical Antiquity. Not even in their fondest imaginings of Olympian glory could the ancients have envisioned a goddess as beautiful as Miss Olson.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/blueangel04.jpg"></center><p>And one look at Kelsey’s angelic facial features confirms that she possesses every attribute of the "fair beauty" that artists enshrined as ideal, from the dawn of civilization, through the Renaissance (as we learned in a recent post), right up until the modern age.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/blueangel03.jpg"></center><p>Indeed, if any single living goddess can reawaken an appreciation for timeless feminine beauty, it is surely Miss Olson.

A size 14 at 5'10", Kelsey (who is represented by Wilhelmina Models in Los Angeles, and Dorothy Combs Models in Miami) may well be the most beautiful model the industry has ever seen. Moreover, her posing abilities are second to none, and from angelic sweetness to alluring seductiveness, she can adopt any persona that circumstances require.

One can only hope that the industry will recognize her potential, and allow her to bring timeless beauty into the 21st century.<p>- <a href="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey2.htm" target="_blank">Kelsey Olson Galleries</a>

These stunning pictures further prove what everybody has been saying since Kelsey made her debut - she may be the prettiest plus-size model of all. She really is beautiful beyond belief. If the media wasn't so hostile to curves, every single fashion magazine in the world would be putting her on their covers. And it's amazing that a model who can look so sweet and angelic here can also create the kind of alluring, sensual images that we've seen from her before. Her range is incredible.

I just can't wait to see her in a major campaign of some kind. I think she'll covert everyone who ever sees her images to a preference for plus-size beauty.

<br>As fortune would have it, Dorothy Combs Models has just unveiled Miss Olson's online portfolio, and if the first four new images from Kelsey were breathtaking, these surpass any that we have ever seen before.

First, here is an even closer headshot, glorying in the model's melting blue eyes, heavenly tresses, and flawless complexion. With her fair features, Kelsey exhibits to perfection every single detail that Agnolo Firenzuola identified as the feminine ideal in his Renaissance treastise <i>On the Beauty of Women.</i> Perhaps no single image has ever epitomized "transcendent beauty" as well as this.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/dc01.jpg"></center><p>Fans of the model (who are numberless) will be thrilled to know that Miss Olson is now listed at a more womanly size 14/16, with measurements 40c-36-43. Here is Kelsey's loveliest-ever figure shot, from her celebrated orange-skirt series, showing off her gorgeous curves in a truly unforgettable way.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/dc04.jpg"></center><p>But although Kelsey's angelic face and Classical figure would suffice to confirm her as one of the industry's most extraordinary models, what makes her truly incomparable is her ability to inject ice-on-fire passion into her images in a way that is intense, yet completely convincing. Images such as the following one can truly stop the heart.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/dc03.jpg"></center><p>Miss Olson's new portfolio also includes one more image from her "Innocent Beauty" shoot with Stanley Debas. This photograph is particularly fascinating in that it differs from the other images in this series. Here, Kelsey adopts a more confident, knowing look, even as her flowing hair and gentle features still soften the impact of the pose. The result is an image that attests to the model's increased maturity and depth of character.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/dc02.jpg"></center><p>There may be no other model whose images currently capture public interest in the way that Kelsey's do. Every time she is photographed, she excels her previous images--even those that would seem to be unsurpassable. At a 14/16, she is now a true plus-size model in every sense, and may well be the industry's brightest light for the future.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/dc05.jpg"></center><p>We earnestly look forward to her future successes.<p>- <a href="http://www.dorothycombsmodels.com" target="_blank">Dorothy Combs Models, Miami</a>

Yes, I agree that Kelly is more beautiful than the extremely thin female celebrities that are pushed on us by the media. The softness in her face and body makes her much more appealing. I would love to see her on the cover of a fashion magazine.

Kelsey is so adorable, I am at a loss for words. Not only do I agree with every statement about how gorgeous she is, but the fact that she is not decreasing her size makes me applaud her even more. It is so heartbreaking to see popular and influential models diminish themselves down to media conformity, and I just hope Kelsey never does this to herself. She has such a lovely and natural figure, and I know that a lot of girls will be inspired by her, when they see how beautiful she is without starving. Like Christina Schmidt, she is remaining true to herself - and there could be no better inspiration for young women than that.

The images are attractive simply because Kelsey is so remarkably lovely. But I hope that someday, she will also be photographed in a more romantic environment. Her beauty lends itself to timeless settings, and opulent/vintage feminine attire. I anticipate a truly unforgettable bridal campaign for her someday, if a company or photographer has the vision to create it. A princess is twice as pretty when she is photographed in a castle...

But even in casual modern clothing, she still brings something unique to the images. Truly an exceptional talent.

<br>Thanks to the generosity of Tami N. (who is surely one of the most selfless and principled individuals in the industry), we are privileged to be able to share one more, very special treat with Miss Olson's numberless fans.

Here is Kelsey's brand-new, heart-stoppingly, soul-piercingly beautiful Dorothy Combs Models composite card. And as industry events go, this is surely the plus-size modelling equivalent of the unveiling of the Uffizi Gallery's first Botticelli.

Without a doubt, this is the loveliest zed that we have ever seen, from any model. Kelsey's limpid blue eyes verily leap from the screen at the viewer, making the rest of the world around him disappear, and leaving him utterly transfixed. Like a living reminder of a better world, she appears<p><blockquote><i>Apparelled in celestial light,<br>The glory and the freshness of a dream</i></blockquote> as Wordworth writes in his "Intimations of Immortality" ode.<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/comp01.jpg"></center><p>And if the cover of Kelsey's card is utterly spellbinding, the back is no less subversive. Not only does it display four more of Miss Olson's most gorgeous images, but it also confirms her truly revolutionary 37" waist measurement. Faced with such a breathtaking incarnation of true, feminine beauty, who could possibly favour the media's emaciated standard over the timeless ideal?<p><center><img src="http://www.judgmentofparis.com/kelsey/comp02.jpg"></center><p>It is as if Miss Olson were a gift bestowed on humanity by divine Providence, brought to this world expressly to restore the sense of beauty that mankind has lost, in the modern age.

For years, we have dreamed of the day when a model with superstar looks and natural proportions (a "full-figured Hilary Duff") would appear, and use the power of her beautiful images to counteract the detrimental effects of the mass media. Kelsey may well be that model. Now, we must simpy hope that she will be given the chance to fulfill her destiny.

I love the blue dress. It looks perfect on Kelsey and matches her eyes.

If she had lived in another time, Kelsey would indeed have motivated Botticelli or any of the other great Renaissance masters to immortalize her beauty forever in their artworks. I agree with Micki that the softness of her figure, matched with the roundess of her face, makes her an ideal vision of timeless beauty. This is precisely the manner of beauty that the media prevents the public from seeing, and that the public wants andneeds to see, most of all. She could help change the world, of that I have no doubt.

A pox on anyone who ever tries to change her, unless it be to become more curvacous still.
