View Full Version : Liis: Laura Plus for fall
10th August 2005, 12:28
The Laura Plus site has a really nice fall campaign featuring Liis. The whole series is attractive- Liis always has that exquisite round face, although I think she's even lovelier with her hair down- but the image that really caught my attention was this one:
How stunning- evening wear in a rich, historic setting (which, I think, is one of the cloistered areas at the University of Toronto, which boasts some of the most venerable architecture in Canada). And Liis's skin looks "as fair as snow". Just lovely.
The rest of the series can be viewed here:
(I love all of the new user-friendly features on this forum.)

I also adore the main image. The red stands out so vividly against the dark green background. (Red Riding Hood? I still have fairtytales in mind from the other campaigns that have been discussed here recently.) It's also a very becoming hairstyle on Liis, framing the beauty of her face especially well.
By the way, if you click the "Behind the scenes" link, you get a page stating that a "Behind the scenes video" is coming soon. I hope that video is specifically about the Laura Plus shoot, or at least focusses extensively on it. I can't wait to see it.
As the altered graphic in Kaitlynn's post indicates, Laura Plus has now released its behind-the-scene video for the Fall 2005 campaign. And the result is truly remarkable.
Aficionados of timeless beauty will delight in seeing many tight close-ups of Liis's decadently full facial features. Liis has always possessed one of the most gorgeous visages in the industry, and this video revels in her soft, rounded beauty.

The video also gives viewers a good sense of what a fashion photo shoot is really like. Liis's motions are very fluid and graceful. She moves languidly and smoothly, and proves to be just as sensual in her movements as she is in her still images.
There is something immensely agreeable about seeing an entire photographic team fawning over her--making sure every tiny detail is perfect, and that she is presented in the best possible way. One thinks of a regal queen being primped and dressed by her attendants, or of a Classical goddess being worshipped by her priestesses. The Gothic setting certainly contributes to the timeless quality of the presentation, and the contemporary camera equipment in the background reminds the viewer that this is simply the 21st-century equivalent of a practice which is as old as civilization itself--the adornment and worship of beauty.

You can view the video from the "Collection" link posted by Ms. Lopez, or directly, from the link below:
- Click here to see Liis's new Laura Plus video
