I generally don't care for pin-up imagery, but the picture on this Torrid card is breathtaking. She seems curvier than most pip-ups -- beautifully so. The strapless figure-embracing dress, the flower in the hair, the seductively indolent pose -- it creates a beautiful mood. She looks like she knows
that it is precisely her well-fed appearance that makes her attractive.
It reminds me very much of one of Barbara's tear sheets from Mode,
during its glorious heyday:
It's another example (like the Lillian Russell homage in the recent "Sexy food goddess" thread) of how Mode
updated the pro-curvy aesthetic of the past, and made it contemporary, while avoiding ugly modernity.
