It is a pleasure to see Images NY model Kelly Spina in the editorial pages of the August 2009 issue of
Seventeen magazine.
Kelly has been a favourite of plus-size-beauty aficionados for nearly two years now, ever since her first
Seveteen images debuted.
In fact, it seems that
Seventeen is a bit
too enamoured of Kelly's early work for the magazine, because the image in the current issue is actually a near-duplicate of a
picture that appeared in the August
2007 issue of
Seveteen. Both photos show Kelly in the same outfit, and offering a similar pose (only the facial expression is somewhat different)--hence both were clearly produced during the same shoot.
Nevertheless, while one would have preferred a new shoot with Miss Spina, who grows more gorgeous every time she is seen, it is still a treat to see her work appearing in such a prestigious publication.
In fact, we have taken this opportunity to finally add Kelly to our survey page, and to build a gallery (linked below) for her. With editorial appearances in
Seveteen Prom and
Glamour magazines, a good deal of work for Fashion Bug, and representation by a top New York agency (where she is listed in the high-fashion women's division, as the agency's only plus-size model), not to mention her remarkable beauty and obvious talent, Miss Spina deserves the tribute.
