I think this is precisely what results in the finest depictions of feminine beauty, a complimentary mix of both the spiritual and the physical, the divine angel and the voluptuous goddess -- both united in one person, or in one image.

The tendency is to see these qualities as mutually contradictory, but when they come together, as they obviously did in this captivating lady...well, no wonder she fascinated every court in Europe she visited, and had men falling at her feet, and artists vying to paint her.
