I found a new image of Barbara at Nordstrom that, like so many of her great dress pictures, makes her seem like a living work of art, an embodiment of feminine beauty in its purest form.

The front view is magnificent, with Barbara adopting one of her signature poses, gazing down as if in modesty -- but it's the kind of modesty that only someone who knows that they have been given almost supernatural beauty can present, someone who is well aware that the entire world will gaze upon her, and sigh in longing.



But the back view is -- as is so often the case when modelling attractive dresses -- the truly extraordinary one. Barbara's figure exhibits precisely the kind of the soft fullness that one sees in Classical sculpture, and that is rarely seen, even among plus-size models. The dress embraces her curves perfectly.



All in all, I still prefer the brown ruched dress that Kelsey recently modelled for Torrid, but this is also a stunning design, shown on a goddess who can exhibit it better than anyone else in the world.

Nordstrom has just released another new image of Barbara in a gown. And it really is a gown - full-lenth and all. As dresses go, I generally prefer something more figure-embracing, but I envision something like this at a very formal event: at least a night at the Met, or a reception for an ambassador, or some soft of regal gala.

And any images of Barbara modelling dresses simpy must be posted. She always knows just what kind of demeanour to adopt, to show off whatever she's wearing in the most perfect of ways. Here, her dignified, aristocratic bearing here suggests a grand occasion, even without a setting for the photograph. You can imagine nobles and statesmen and world leaders gathered together in an opulent environment, forgetting all about their affairs of state, and only able to discuss one topic during the evening: "Who is that divine vision in red?"



At one point during the evening, a prince succumbs to his infatuation, and offers Barbara his fortune, his title, his lands, anything to win her heart. She simply smiles. Having powerful men falling at her feet is a daily occurrence for this most gorgeous of all goddesses-come-to-life.



Nordstrom's own product description of this gown advertises this as a "Grecian-inspired dress." How wise for them to exhibit it on the model who is the living embodiment of the Greek ideal of beauty.

It's not a dress, but Barbara is currently modelling a new top at Nordstrom that is just about as exciting:



It looks sooo good on her amazing figure. Talk about a design "for curves only"!

The description is also very interesting, in light of recent comments about figure-embracing wardrobe. The product write-up says:

"Curve-loving nylon mesh is softly draped and ruched for the ultimate in figure flattery."

and"

"Due to the nature of the fabric, this item will stretch and conform to the body."

It's nice to know that retailers are finally figuring out that "curve-loving" clothing is clothing that will "conform to the body," showing off all the contours. And it's interesting that ruching is again the method used to achieve this attractive effect.

I'm glad that ruching continues to be popular. Now, if they would only bring back the frills and ruffles and were in style a season or two ago, plus-size fashion would be unstoppable.

Nordstrom has a sublte feature in its pages where you can find gorgeous images of Barbara hidden in the "alternative colours" offerings of various items. I found one such "hidden" image, posted below, and I nearly passed out when I saw it.

It's almost incomprehensible that any woman can be THIS beautiful. She's elegant, even regal, but also smoulderingly sensual. You simply can't take your eyes off her.



That melting gaze is intoxicating.
