Default Happy-size.ch with Barbara & Victoria

I don't think the German portal has them yet, but if you go to the Swiss incarnation of the Happy Size site,

http://www.happy-size.ch

and click on the "Kombi Tipps" graphic, you get to see an extensive photoshoot with Barbara and, I believe, Victoria Lewis- some of her most attractive image yet.

It's just such a shame the images are so tiny.

After a great deal of effort on the part of a dear Austrian friend and ally of this site, we are thrilled to be able to share some images from Barbara Brickner's Fall 2005 Happy-Size catalogue.

The images make it evident that Happy-Size is well aware of what a treasure they have in Barbara. These are some of the best location shots of the model that we have seen outside of Elena Miro.

The cover is one of those casual, energetic images exhibiting a wholesome sex appeal, which Barbara specializes in creating:

We find ourselves particularly fond of the following image, with Barbara dressed in the "dessert" colours that have been all the rage, this year:

Some of the most splendid images in the catalogue are also some of the smallest ones. Here, the photographer clearly delighted in the way that the sunlight caresses Barbara's face, as the emerald fields of Northern Germany stretch off into the distance:

This site never misses an opportunity for a literary plug, so let's zero in on the book that Barbara is seen reading here (in German, no less--her talents are truly limitless!):

The title is Die Schatten von Florenz, which is a German translation of The Florentine Mourners, by George Herman. And from the description of this book at the German Amazon site, we can conclude that Barbara has great taste in novels:

"With George Herman the Renaissance comes to life." (Los Angeles Times). In the third book of the series revolving around Leonardo there Vinci and his assistant Niccolo de Pavia, the Borgias enter into a deadly conflict with the family Medici. At the same time, a mysterious group of penitents spread fear and terror in Florence. By order of their late leader Savonarola, the religious fanatics destroy the artworks of Donatello, Uccello and Botticelli. Leonardo da Vinci proceeds on the track of the penitents to reveal the motivations behind their actions--and finds himself in mortal danger . . .

Long-time readers of this forum may recall a discussion from last year, which pertained to a PBS series titled The Medici: Godfathers of the Renaissance. In that thread, we noted the similarities between the Italian Renaissance of the Middle Ages and today’s Aesthetic Restoration, and how Savonarola's attempts to suppress the Florentine Renaissance mirror current efforts by thin supremacists to suppress our nascent size-celebration movement.

How fitting, then, that Barbara should be reading a novel on this topic, since she physically embodies the Classical ideal of feminine beauty which the Renaissance resurrected. And nowhere is this more evident than in Happy-Size's remarkable swimwear image of Mrs. Brickner, seen below. The soft fullness of her figure reconfirms her status as the greatest swimwear model of all time, a Venus de Medici brought to life, in our own day and age:

The Happy-Size catalogue features many images of Barbara modelling with rising Ford starlet Victoria Lewis (size 14), and Victoria too makes a splendid showing in her Happy-Size work. This image shows off the beauty of her facial features especially well:

But for the piece de resistance of this series, Happy-Size actually manages to show us a side of Barbara Brickner that we have never witnessed before--even after many years of admiring her work.

We have seen Barbara serene and elegant, youthful and exuberant, intense and passionate, sensual and alluring. We have seen her engaged in horseback riding, in reading, and in singing. But we have never before seen her dancing--and dancing wildly, like a modern-day Bacchante:

Everything about this image makes it unique in Barbara's oeuvre, from the funky hairstyle, to the animal top (although the appeal of animal prints and patterns entirely eludes us). But this shows us yet another dimension of Mrs. Brickner's personality--and kudos to Happy-Size for letting her innumerable fans see it.

We offer Happy-Size an enthusiastic round of applause for a vibrant and life-affirming fall promotion.

Those pictures of Barbara and Victoria make them look so fun-loving and carefree. I wish Happy Size would open stores in the US.
