Default Andrea Horblitt

What a pity that fans don't see more of Andrea Horblitt (Flaunt NYC, Heffner). A few seasons ago, this curvaceous model memorably caught the eyes of our readers, who enthused about her beauty and her size-18 figure. When Andrea subsequently appeared in a Figure magazine editorial, we immediately created a gallery in her honour, and added her to our survey page.

Since then, we haven't chanced upon as many examples of her work as we would have liked. However, several new test photographs recently came our way, and we are delighted to share them with Andrea's many fans.

The first two imges show Andrea looking completely adorable. The pillows and the bedroom setting create a mood that is at once both playful and sexy; innocent, yet alluring. The model's coy expression adds to the effect. She has a touch of the little girl about her--yet her eyes betray a secret maturity.

Despite what the coarsening of modern culture may indicate, with the widespread proliferation of risque material, the truth is that images with a gentle sensuality, such as these, are far more alluring than explicitly racy imagery. Andrea's Barbie-themed room is a far more provocative setting than any boudoir could ever be, and the model's teasing, coquettish demeanour, vulnerable yet self-assured, is much more irresistible than overt aggressiveness, or assertiveness.

Moving outdoors to a tropical environment, here we see Andrea's tribute to Mode's celebrated beachfront editorials. She looks happy and carefree in her casual outfit, but note how size-positive this image actually is. The jeans fit snugly around her curvaceous figure, and her baby-pink top exposes her soft midriff. This picture tells all full-figured women that they need never feel self-conscious about their figures, but can comfortably and confidently show off their naturally-contoured physiques, catching the eye of many an admirer in the process.

And finally, it is always a treat to share "behind-the-scenes" glimpses of models in the midst of a shooting experience, and here we see Andrea in makeup for a photo session. The cosmetics artistry is a bit on the wild side, but still very pretty and feminine. Viewers can imagine for themselves what kind of captivating outfit the model might wear, to go with this look.

It is a pleasure and a thrill to feature more images of Andrea on this forum. She is an extraordinary beauty, remarkably expressive in her posing, highly creative with her tests, and has a luscious, generously-proportioned figure that richly deserves to be called "goddess-like." We eagerly hope to see more of her in the near future.

I really like these images of Andrea, especially the midriff-baring tropical picture. It's nice to see a model with a little texture on her figure. It's a natural, beautiful trait that many young women have, but the airbrush fanatics in the fashion industry eliminate every lovely detail like this, making a model seem unappealingly plastic and artificial. I prefer a picture in which dimples, texture, etc. are all visible on a beautiful model. Such details make a goddess seem both more natural, and more attractive.

I also adore the bedroom pictures. What a marvellous idea for a shoot. Sensual yet girlish- it's the perfect mix. It reminds me of Kate Dillon's editorial in French Vogue, a few years ago, which included an image like this.

Andrea is a pretty model with a gorgeous figure. I'd love to see more of her.

For those of you who may have missed it, below is the French Vogue image in question (Nov. 2001), featuring Kate Dillon in one of the better editorials that any plus-size model has ever received in a "high fashion" magazine. Ms. Dillon's expression is extraordinary, a mixture of languid sensuality with relaxed vulnerability. Note in particular the heavily-lidded eyes, which the Greeks esteemed as the gaze of Venus. Seldom has Kate allowed herself to be so openly sensual in her work.

Andrea's test images, however, have the benefit of a cuter setting--a more girlish bedroom, complete with pink/purple fabrics and soft pillows--which invests the images with a youthful element that makes them simultaneously more innocent and seductive. They also more clearly indicate the fullness of her figure.

The "girl's bedroom" motif is a very feminine theme that suits plus-size beauty particularly well, generating intense allure in the gentlest possible way.
