Default Kelly in Seventeen Prom

So far, the Prom 2009 season has been a bit of a disappointment, producing only one notable editorial page in any of the prom magazines, and one worthwhile campaign.

We will deal with the aforementioned campaign later, but the attractive editorial page in question appears in the 2009 edition of Seventeen Prom magazine (not surprisingly, since Seventeen has produced admirable images of plus-size models on numerous occasions).

True, some of the other prom magazines also feature token plus-size editorials, but they feature unattractive faux-plus models. For its own prom issue, though, Seventeen, called on its home-grown star, the gorgeous Kelly, who had a page in the magazine's 2008 prom edition as well, and recently starred in two popular promotions for Fashion Bug.

This year's prom page featuring Kelly shows how much more attractive the model has become over the past year, and how much her modelling technique has improved. Her figure appears unchanged, but she has become more confident with her luscious curves--and it shows.

The most stunning image is this centre panel, which Seventeen wisely reproduced at the largest size. Kelly's stance is thrillingly vain and self-assured. The bustier of the dress is very flattering on a decolletage-rich model. But the real appeal of the outfit lies it how it reveals her luscious legs. Kelly has absolutely gorgeous legs, particularly generous given that she isn't all that full-figured, and any goddess with legs as shapely as this should definitely show them off.

If we view the image full-size, we see more evidence of Kelly's beauty. Her arms are round and substantial. Her face is alluringly filled-out--one can see the fullness in her cheeks and chin. Consequently, she exhibits a pampered, spoiled look of babylike softness that is intensely attractive. Her dark tresses flowing gently over her face and shoulders add to the effect. Kelly is unquestionably one of the most beautiful models in the industry.

The other images on the page are only a shade less gorgeous. The caption here is admirably positive, referring to Kelly's legs as "hot" (and so they are), and encouraging girls to choose a dress that "hugs your curves." Note that the model's previous pose is better than this one, which is shade too angular, too much like what a minus-size model would do. But the expression is pretty, a big open-mouthed smile.

Although the following dress hides Kelly's fine legs, it wins major style points for effectivel displaying her arms, shoulders, and decolletage. This is the sort of gown that can only be worn by curvy girls, whose figures fill out the upper portion of the dress in the way that the style requires.

And finally, this is the least successful picture, due to the overly updone hair. (When a goddess has abundant tresses, it behooves her to show them off.) What nevertheless makes the image so sensual is the visible curve of the model's abdomen, perceptible through the fabric. Again, the rondeur of this plus-size prom-goer transforms what could be a dull, flat dress into an attractive gown, as her curves give the style a robust, feminine shape.

As we have noted before, prom night is made for plus-size girls. It is the night when they can wear the kind of feminine gowns that show off their voluptuous curves to best effect, and thereby reveal the full measure of their beauty, making every male prom-goer forget all about the classroom waifs and yearn to be with them instead.

Kelly is an especially good representative for buxom teens. She grows more beautiful with every campaign. Her agency remains a mystery, but she is Seventeen's star model, and with two Fashion Bug campaigns to her credit, she has already achieved considerable success.

We earnestly hope to see more of her work in 2009.
