Default Barbara at

I think the Germans are trying to "steal" Barbara Brickner for themselves! Besides her great work at, there is a new series of her images at, a company that I remember because they produced the remarkable swimwear images featuring Barbara that were posted here a few months ago.|3140|0

The photos are lovely, and Barbara is at the height of her beauty, although nothing can compare to the latest Reitmans campaign, as well as the best of the fall Nordstrom shots. But it's wonderful to see European clients featuring a true plus-size model, as they have too often been known to limit themselves to the faux-plus appraoch in the past.

Default Barbara and ''Cultural Inheritance''

Here is one more image of Barbara modelling swimwear for Bonprix--although interestingly, it only appeared at the international Bonprix sites, not at the German portal, where the other three were discovered.

What continues to intrigue us, however, is how a bona fide goddess such as Mrs. Brickner can inspire and beguile the public, not just when she is showcasing swimwear and lingerie, but even when she is modelling simple, casual attire.

Earlier today, we received a message from a gentleman named Nuno, at the Divisăo de Património Histórico Cultural (the "Division of Historical Cultural Inheritance") of a town called Sintra, in Portugal. The writer of this message was moved to pen a rhapsody of praise for the images in the latest Barbara Brickner gallery, even though most of those images merely feature Barbara dressed in comfortable daywear.

Nuno apologizes in advance for his poor English, but we would nevertheless like to share his thoughts here in a virtually unedited form, because the sentiments behind his words are so utterly poetic:

(forgive my English which is not current)

In the site jgm.of Paris, they are more photos of Barbara Brickner, that one observes with pleasure. She has something special... her smile is wonderful and with a brightness of happiness and at the same time in that photo that she has a blouse rose color, she has a penetrating serenity. Later she fascinates with her curves in that dress chestnut! I adored all the photos, but I have a special affection for the photo where Barbara is dressing a blouse yellow, with crossed arms and smiling with a sufficiently relaxed air.

Barbara is the beauty of nature at its best... Barbara is like a great sun... a sun that has force and light to attract many planets.

I think that we only live a time... and when we leave is good exactly for taking in memory the most beautiful images of this life.

Nuno - Portugal

Incidentally, Sintra appears to be quite a lovely town, based on the images that appear on the official city Web site. Note in particular the spectacular hilltop castle of Pena, which is regarded as the finest example of Romantic architecture in the country:

No wonder the city maintains a "Division of Historical Cultural Inheritance," since Sintra’s cultural inheritance is so obviously magnificent. And no wonder that the head of such a division should admire Mrs. Brickner’s images so ardently, since the timeless beauty that she embodies is the most precious cultural inheritance of our common Western civilization.
