Default Introducing Joy Robinson

It's been a while since we've featured an introduction thread on this forum, but a new face at Ford Chicago emphatically warrants a nod.

At 5'9 and a size 14 (38D-34-44) according to her Polaroid card, Joy Robinson just barely qualifies as a true plus-size model, but she has a soft, curvy figure and attractively round facial features, and one could easily see her blossoming into an even curvier goddess in the future. Observe an attractive styling point in this image--how her voluptuousness pushes open the jacket at the bust.

What particularly distinguishes Joy is her angelic face, with its gentle, feminine look. The model is adept at selecting dreamy-eyed expressions that heighten her attractiveness.

The following image suggests the model's potential for developing an even richer figure in the future. Observe the soft curves at her midsection, so lovingly defined by her white top. Her figure is attractively untoned and natural.

A second image in the same outfit plays up the model's buxom charms.

Joy maximizes her stunning beauty when she simply gazes directly, longingly at the camera with her gentle, dreamy eyes. This close-up is even lovelier than the second picture, above, because her tresses are unbound and flow freely over her shoulders.

The composition of the following photograph is not altogether successful, and the pose seems unconventional, but the photo does incorporate some of the elegant masonry of the park in which this test was shot. The sculptural stonework harmonizes with the model's Classical beauty.

Plus-size models with truly attractive facial features are quite rare in the industry, but Joy undoubtedly now takes her place among that select few. Anyone looking at her supermodel visage would have to concede her remarkable beauty, however thin-supremacist their inclinations might be.

Another playful shot shows the model openly flaunting her voluptuousness, yet with a type of sensuality that is very wholesome and tasteful--the kind that Kelsey Olson and Barbara Brickner achieve in their pictures. Again, the elegant stonework makes a fine backdrop.

Joy Robinson is an exciting new talent in the industry. We eagerly look forward to her future successes, and hope that she may, in time, blossom into a 14/16--at which point her beauty, already considerable, will become even more pronounced.

Default Re: Introducing Joy Robinson

Joy's photographs proved to be quite popular when we posted them a few months ago, and the first image in particular was widely distributed, so we thought it worth updating this thread with images from the model's brand-new Polaroid card.

The card delivers some very good news: Miss Robison is now a tad fuller-figured. Ford now lists her as a 14/16 with considerably shapelier measurements: 42.5-36-44. It is always a pleasure to see models becoming more curvaceous--and consequently more beautiful.

One aspect of the Polaroids is regrettable, though. These were shot in such a way as to create a "fisheye lens" effect: the model's head is prominent but the figure tapers away below. Since Polaroids are meant to show a models' look as accurately as possible, and given that Joy is now curvier, it would have been wonderful if her Polas had showcased her true proportions.

Nevertheless, one of the Polaroids is truly gorgeous--and size-positive as well. Even with the lens distorting the model's figure, one perceives the soft roundness at her waist, the sensual halo of fullness around her middle. This is a gorgeous image--better than many models' professional tests, even though it is "just" a Pola--and celebrates the model's richer figure. It shows how a plus-size goddess can use even a candid photograph to advance a pro-plus agenda. Even the lighting is natural and luminous, showing off the model's fair complexion.

The headshot suffers even more from lens distortion, but does offer a view of Joy's decolletage. The model's hair colour appears to be a tad lighter, but she looks good with both shades. The important thing is that she has kept the length, which is crucial for plus-size models.

Joy Robinson is an attractive young talent who has now become all the more promising because of her moderately fuller figure. Kudos to the model for shooting a Polaroid that acknowledges her richer curves and celebrates them. May she be an example to other models--and to other plus-size women.
