Default Justline Legault with Heffner & Joy

It's wonderful to see the career of gorgeous Québec plus-size model Justine Legault continuing to progress. In addition to being represented by Ford in Toronto, Scoop in Montreal, Milk Management in the U.K., Dominique in Belgium, and Model Team in Hamburg, Justine has now signed with two new agencies.

This appears to be an ongoing development among plus-size models: appearing on multiple boards to have more opportunities to find international work.

Justine is now also signed with Heffner in Seattle,

and with an agency I'd never heard of before: Joy Model Management in Milan. (Click the word "Plus" on the bottom bar):

In addition, her Hamburg agency has posted a new image that I haven't seen elsewhere: a lovely intimate-apparel ad from Walmart. I love the tousled hairstyle, wild but soft.

Justine is a truly gorgeous model. I hope her career reaches new heights in the U.S.A. and around the world.

I had never heard of Joy Model Management before either. It appears to represent a number of plus-size models, but alas, as is the case with so many European agencies, nearly all of its girls are of the faux-plus variety. At a U.S. size 14/16, Justine is the only legitimately full-figured model on the Joy board. But this is true of her situation with numerous European agencies. She is consistently the curviest model, her beauty obviously having overcome agency bias and prejudice against true plus-size models. (But how appalling a situation this is: that nominal plus-size agencies resist actual plus-size models in the first place.)

I like the two very soft, gentle Jean Valade headshots in the Joy portfolio:

Also, interestingly, Joy is the first agency I've seen that has included tear sheets from Justine's amazing editorial with Clin d'Oeil magazine from 2010:

I still consider this to be one of the most beautiful examples of a plus-size-model editorial in a "mainstream" publication. I'm glad that Joy recognizes this.
