Default Mayara Russi on ''Quen Fica Em Pé''

Quen Fica Em Pé ("Who Will Stay Standing?") is a TV game show that is very popular in Brazil, rather as Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune are in the U.S.

Full-figured goddess Mayara Russi recently appeared on this program, solidifying her status as the most famous and recognizable plus-size model in South America.

The language is Portuguese, of course, but I entreat everyone to watch this clip all the way through -- not just to view Mayara, but also because the video comes with a surprise so astonishing that you won't believe it's real, until the instant replays confirm that, yes, it did happen!

It's truly encouraging that throughout Brazil, when the public conceives of what a "plus-size model" is supposed to look like, they see someone as gorgeous and genuinely full-figured as Mayara, not a faux-plus fraud. In North America, Europe, and Australia, media covering plus-size models is usually met with frustration and incredulity from the viewing public, (and particularly with disappointment by curvy women,) as the models who are pawned off as "plus-size models" are plus-size in name only, and don't look the least bit full-figured.

But in South America, truly full-figured beauty is not just present, it's the dominant image of curvy women. Bravo, Mayara!
