Default Katherine Roll: Rapunzel

Several seasons ago, this forum featured a thread about Disney's take on one of the most beloved of the Brothers Grimm fairy-tales: Rapunzel. Tangled suffered from more than its share of flaws--particularly an unworthy and off-putting male protagonist, as well as several poor narrative choices--but all in all, it was the company's best animated film in years.

The most notable missed opportunity in the Disney version, however, is that the animation for the lead character--pretty as she was made to be--simply did not realize the Grimm Brothers' description of her as "the most beautiful girl in the world."

But now, at last, a Rapunzel who fits that description has been caught on film.

Filling the role that she was born to play, full-figured goddess Katherine Roll (size 18) has just participated in a shoot in which she embodies the Rapunzel of the world's fantasies. Her fair features and luscious proportions confirm her as the ideal Germanic princess. Photographed by Marisa Balletti-Lavoie, of Sassy Mouth Photography, Miss Roll strikes the dreamiest of poses, gazing into the horizon with profound longing. The dramatic cloudscape externalizes her Sehnsucht (as the German Romantics would have termed her yearning impulse). The sunlight gilds Katherine's golden tresses--described as "magnificent long hair, fine as spun gold," in the original Grimm text--while the breeze gently tousles stray wisps of her shimmering locks. The dress bares the model's full, shapely arms and discloses an abundance of her voluptuous décolletage.

The setting couldn't have been more ideally chosen, a stonework tower that looks as authentically medieval as a historicist structure in the greater German Reich.

Not only was Katherine the only model lovely enough and curvaceous enough to do justice to the legendary beauty of Rapunzel, but she is also the only model sufficiently talented to strike such a captivating pose, so perfectly encapsulating the yearning that a princess secreted away in a tower would feel, when looking out upon the world beyond her walls.

The position of the camera is also ideally chosen, looking up from below at the ravishing beauty in just the way that an amorous prince might gaze upon her, desiring her from afar, resolving to muster the courage to dare approach such a gorgeous damsel, so regal in her well-fed majesty.

In sharing this image, the photographer noted some of the entities that helped create this masterpiece. Kudos go to all of them for helping to make this magic a reality:

Quote:
Another princess-styled photo shoot came to be today. And who was the lucky lady? None other than the golden-haired beauty, Rapunzel herself. I worked with a wonderful team of vendors on the shoot: Country Girl Collections, Krystalized Designs, Sissycakes, AvantGarde Design, Real Size Bride, Love Colorful, and our fabulous model Katherine Roll.

This is just a little sneak peek. I'm having heart palpitations just thinking about the rest.
As are all of Katherine's fans, to be sure.

* * *

Incidentally, when one reads the Grimm fairy-tale, whether in the later versions or the original, further details from the text fascinate the reader, and confirm Katherine as the ideal Rapunzel.

First, observe that the birth of Rapunzel is tied to her mother's greedy craving for a particular food ("greed" is the Grimms' own term), to obtain which Rapunzel's father must brave death. Rapunzel's beauty is thus a direct consequence of a feminine penchant for self-indulgence.

Next, consider that the fairy-tale ties in Rapunzel's identity as the "most beautiful girl under the sun" to her long, golden tresses--directly attributing feminine beauty to long, fair hair.

Third, note that the prince is initially attracted to Rapunzel, even before he sees her, by the melodious strains of her "sweet voice." As anyone who has heard her speak in interviews can confirm, Miss Roll has an enchantingly soft, feminine voice, and if rumours are to be believed, she is an exquisite singer, whose lyrical soprano could mesmerize any mortal.

"If that is the ladder by which one ascends," says the prince upon seeing Rapunzel's golden locks, "I too will try my fortune." The act of daring to woo the fair princess is presented, on the part of a prince, as a bold, Faustian undertaking, a supremely Romantic gesture and an act of knightly courage that challenges fate itself, rather as Siegfried braves the flames of Loki in approaching Brünnhilde.

But most significant of all, consider this: unlike the Disney film (which absolutely botched this aspect of the narrative), in the Grimm fairy tale, it is the sinister Mother Gothel who cuts Rapunzel's glorious hair:

Quote:
In her anger, she clutched Rapuzel's beautiful tresses, wrapped them a few times round her left hand, seized a pair of scissors with the right, and--snip-snap!--they were cut off, and the lovely braids lay on the ground.
Literally the most wicked thing that the evil stepmother could do to Rapunzel is to shear off her fair tresses. This detail comprises the tale's greatest object lesson to all of its female readers: short of diminishing themselves to a lesser size, the most egregious way in which a beautiful girl can sabotage her loveliness is if she cuts her hair short. And by contrast, the most dramatic way in which she can augment her attractiveness is by growing her hair to a magnificent length.

The moral of the story, then? Plus-size princess should never, ever cut their hair short, but always wear it long.

Take it from the Brothers Grimm, whose tales have resonated with the world for centuries.

This photograph is one of the most artistic and memorable that we have ever seen, a surpassing triumph for the breathtaking Katherine Roll.

We eagerly look forward to more images from this captivating shoot.

Could this be the most exciting plus-size model editorial of all time?

The answer is: yes. Oh, yes. The results of the shoot surpass even the seemingly unrealizable promise of greatness that the teaser image intimated.

Katherine Roll has generated some of the most memorable photographs that any full-figured model has ever created, yet even so, it seems impossible that she--that anyone--could possibly be as gorgeous as these Rapunzel pictures suggest. Yet here she is, more beautiful than ever. Than ever.

The heart races at the sight of these breathtaking images. The model's arms appear so soft and full, so generously rounded, so sensually dimpled at the elbows, as to put to shame even the most acclaimed sculptures of classical antiquity. Her noble voluptuousness is revealed in all of its bountiful magnificence, as never before. The thickness and weight of her voluminous tresses, cascading in a mass of gold over her shoulders, dazzles the senses. The overall impression of sumptuous fullness that her figure conveys makes the viewer dizzy with desire. There has never been before been a photograph that so perfectly brings to life the ideal image of a storybook princess from German fable.

Astonishingly, the dress (courtesy of Real Size Bride) manages to be worthy of Katherine's comeliness, so wondrous is it in its frothy femininity. The ivory upper portion, which holds the model's replete body in a loving embrace, erupts in a stunning mass of pink ruffles. Sleeveless it is, of course--of course, because it would be a crime against nature to hide those alluring arms.

And again, the setting harmonizes perfectly with Miss Roll's timeless beauty. The stonework floor and the noble historicist tower behind her appear to be the finest expressions of the Old World. The vibrant bouquet with a splash of purple against leafy greenery, provides a wonderful element of colour against the otherwise neutral hues of the composition.

From Sleeping Beauty to Cinderella to Katrina van Tassel, all other Disney princesses must bow before this Rapunzel, truly the fairest of them all.

But heaven help us, the sight of a close-up image of the model is even more mesmerizing to behold. The luscious curve under the model's chin enhances the angelic beauty of her facial features. The plump fleshiness at Katherine's neck and shoulder area, with her clavicle submerged in fullness, is the epitome of decadent sensuality. The deep V cut of this wondrous dress unveils the model's buxom richness, as she coyly leans forward, as if to allow the viewer to drown in her lavishly indulged curves. Indeed, the strap of the dress appears, excitingly, to be slipping off her shoulder, as if it were in league with the principle of Beauty itself to reveal as much as possible of Miss Roll's soft physique.

The cosmetics artist (Krystalized Designs, which also created the model's incredible hairstyle) aided in the beautifying of Miss Roll, adoring her with a deliciously kissable pink lip colour and complementary eyeshadow, accentuating how, for all of her womanly fullness, Katherine still exhibits the irrepressible charms of a young girl. (She could pass for a felonious 16 as easily as 26.) The model's expression contributes to the youthful effect, as she fairly beams with joy, laughing with her whole being, taking deserved pleasure in being so spellbindingly lovely. And the sheer weight of her golden tresses constitutes the finest accessory of all.

A third image shows a reflection of Katherine in a full-length mirror. Observe how every element of the photograph, from the ornate frame--matching the model's opulent figure--to the blossoming lilacs, to the antique tea set, to the venerable stone fence, all harmonize in an depiction of Old World beauty. (The set design is by Country Girl Collections.) Not a single modern trace blights this visual masterpiece. Note too how deliciously youthful Katherine appears here, even more so than in the previous image, truly a Rapunzel-aged girlish coquette, Chloë Agnew of several years past--but a fuller-figured, more seductively self-indulgent, more irresistible Chloë than the world has ever seen.

As we have often noted on the forum, goddesses of beauty has ever been associated with mirrors, those magical objects which reflect a princess's beauty back to her. Yet as in Rubens's famous painting Venus Before the Mirror, the greatest artistic expression of this theme, the following picture demonstrates that there is one thing which excites a plus-size stunner even more than a glance at her own ample charms, and that is the overpowering effect that her beauty has upon the viewer. Observe how, in the photograph, Miss Roll gazes not upon her own reflection, but off to the side, undoubtedly relishing in the sight of an admirer falling at her feet, worshipping her, enslaved by her gorgeousness.

A fifth image from the shoot highlights Rapunzel's Tower, which is actually a structure in New England, but in its Neo-Romanesque stonework could pass for the keep of a medieval German castle. The dramatic sky gives the image an epic quality, something beyond fairy-tale and entering the world of myth--appropriately so, given that Katherine's beauty in this shoot is so pronounced as to merit legendary renown.

Looking a little closer, we see the fair maiden perched tantalizingly on the railing, her snug dress defining her swelling contours, particularly teasing the viewer with the luscious curves along her back. Her golden braid descends over the stone barrier, as if enticing the potential suitor to dare approach and ascend to her level. Observe how the photographer situates Katherine under the apex of the stone ornament circling the tower, while framing the bouquet with one of its round arches.

No matter how much shadow there is in the world, miraculous beauty such as Katherine's transcends it all, and lights even our darkest times. Bravo again to everyone involved in this spectacular shoot, which brings to life the dream of loveliness that mankind has held in its heart from the dawn of time.

Like the greatest artists, from the Brothers Grimm to Walt Disney himself, Miss Roll makes us believe that the ideal of fairy-tales is not just a fond fantasy, but a reality that lives on this earth, in flesh and blood, among us, even today.

I am absolutely enraptured by this photo series. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. It's more than a photo shoot. It's a work of art.

This may be the most perfect presentation of eternal beauty that can ever be imagined:

Everything in the picture, from the setting to the dress to the hairstyle to -- above all -- the model's lavish figure, is an embodiment of a better era, an era that understood and valued beauty.

Truly, I can't believe how beautiful Katherine is. A princess such as this deserves a kingdom of riches and throngs of admirers, no less.

I'm dying to see more images from this shoot. I hope there will be many, many more.

Aficionados of timeless beauty have been on tenterhooks for days, waiting for the moment when Sassy Mouth Photography would release the rest of the images from its acclaimed Rapunzel shoot with breathtaking plus-size model Katherine Roll, size 18 (45-38-49).

That day has now arrived. And the results confirm two things:

1. This is by far Katherine's finest work. Ever.
2. The series is a strong contender for "best plus-size model shoot of all time."

Don't believe us? Where else can you possibly find an image as beautiful as this? Just look at how opulent Katherine's gorgeous arms appear, so lusciously rounded, purely shaped by natural fullness rather than unfeminine muscle "tone." Even her angelic facial features look sensually richer here than usual, with a hint of a curve under the chin and a kissably soft neck. Her buxom contours are magnificent and regal, her tresses thick and heavy and golden. The sweep of the bangs to the side is an enchanting look (every bit as much as straight-down bangs are unappealing). There is such a look of well-fed repleteness about the model as to be utterly intoxicating. Her blue eyes sparkle in a gentle yet lively manner. The purple of the bouquet underscores Katherine's aristocratic status, while the tower frames her with its Old World stonework. Quite simply, this image is Beauty personified.

However, the most exciting image of the entire shoot is the following masterpiece, in which Katherine strikes a breathtaking pose unlike any that she (or any other plus-size model) has ever adopted--a dramatic, lunging motion, so graceful yet sensual. Her deliciously full waist presses against the lacy fabric, disclosing an alluringly rounded contour at her middle. Her arm is seductively soft and fleshy. Her expression enraptures the viewer, a look that is filled with romantic desire. There is such passion in this image, such physical freedom; the well-deserved vanity of a goddess who knows that her sumptuous body is the loveliest in creation. Observe how her golden braid flows over her dress and veritably merges with the pink ruffles on the frothy skirt.

Every single image in this photo series makes the viewer's heart race, unveiling new realms of feminine loveliness never before imagined. The effective lighting in the next image highlights the sensually fed look of the model's facial features, so hale and robust. Her angelic, golden tresses cascade over her shoulders in a seductively weighty mass, a riot of gold that any man would give his soul to touch. The model's stance accentuates the noble proportions of her resplendent voluptuousness. The sash on the dress is perfectly placed, high enough to underscore the model's buxom contours yet avoid binding her succulent waist, which forms the dress into a luscious swell at her middle. Katherine's gaze is hypnotic, an eager, appetitive look, with her parted pink lips and her blue eyes, slightly narrowed, creating a steamy effect.

Needless to say, any goddess as inconceivably gorgeous as this Rapunzel would surely, must surely, be an irrepressible flirt, and the next three images testify to her coquettish qualities. The first situates Rapunzel within her splendid tower. (Truly splendid--one couldn't find a finer Historicist keep for our Teutonic princess unless one were to travel to Germany itself.) Observe how dramatically she gazes off into the distance, her look betokening romantic Sehnsucht, the bouquet injecting a splash of colour amid the neutral hues of the composition.

The second of the trio reveals Rapunzel as a shameless tease: surely she realizes that every viewer longs desperately to gaze upon her soft, full arms, so, minx that she is, she partially hides them behind the stonework. However, the image is still intensely sensual, for it captures the sight of a curve under the model's chin--the most attractive of all facial features. The sheer joy that she communicates with her expression gladdens the heart. One cannot help but take pleasure at the sight of a goddess who so clearly adores herself, who loves being so beautiful and having all eyes upon her, worshipping her, longing for her. Notice how the stone step veritably puts the model on a pedestal, where she deserves to be.

The third image in this trio surpasses the rest, for here the model discloses more of her bare arms, which appear fuller and more luscious than ever, the stone pressing sensually into their plump roundness. Katherine's braided tresses depend from her shoulder like spun gold. Her expression enslaves the viewer's very soul, for she appears immensely self-satisfied, smug even--and so she deserves to be. She seems to say, "I know I have you in my power, and I like it that way." It's one thing for a model to resemble a princess, but Katherine actually projects those aristocratic qualities into her images. Yet for all of her hearty opulence of figure, the dazzling fairness of her complexion adds a trace of delicate vulnerability to her look, which makes her that much more irresistible.

Perhaps assured that she has now sufficiently teased the poor viewer, in the next photographs our Rapunzel permits more intimate admiration. This is a dazzling portrait, showcasing her fair hair--arranged in that thick, weighty braid, its opulence harmonizing with the sumptuousness of the model's physique--her girlishly pink lips, her azure eyes, and most alluring of all, her heavy voluptuousness. The look in the model's eyes is earnest, free of any guile, fully engaged yet invitingly passive. The stray wisps of hair that fall over one eye constitute a bewitching touch. Here again we see Miss Roll's unique ability to suggest varying ages. Her facial features have a babylike softness that presents her as a child bride, an adorable young girl, yet her hearty womanliness is evident and pronounced. This is the dream mix that all men crave in their brides--innocence and vulnerability coupled with full-blown femininity. No wonder Katherine is acknowledged as the definitive bridal model.

The next image is the most intimate of all, with Miss Roll adopting the eyes-downward, "modest model" pose that is a Barbara Brickner specialty, and a hallmark of lingerie models. Notice how effective is the framing of the image, leaving the viewer unaware that Katherine is garbed in a bridal gown; rather, with those lacy touches, she appears to be dressed in intimate apparel. The viewer's eyes helplessly wander downwards to admire the model's buxom richness. The fleshiness at her neck, with the clavicle submerged in lush fullness, is intensely sensual. Consider too our Rapunzel's skin tone, which, though fair, is flushed and natural, testifying to her red-blooded womanliness, and thus more attractive than the over-airbrushed, waxy look of minus-size models.

One of our favourite images from the series from a photographic point of view is the following, which plays with light in a remarkable way. One wonders how the shooter managed to bathe Katherine (not to mention her magnificent keep) is such a rich, natural light, when the sun had secreted itself behind the tower.

The New England sky ably collaborated with the Sassy Mouth team to produce visions of heavenly radiance, giving the images an epic sweep, and permitting the sunlight to peer through and illuminate Katherine in a celestial glow, making her appear to be a shining angel. The blue empyrean plays off against the model's fair complexion and pink-embellished dress.

With the epic sky and the trees in the distance, Rapunzel's tower appears to be situated in the midst of a secluded forest, just like a storybook castle. The sight of the model sunning herself, like a Lorelei, atop her tower's battlements makes her appear tantalizingly inaccessible, a distant goal to which one might strive. She bares her full arms as if further enticing suitors to yearn for her, exposing her embonpoint to inflame their desire and compel them to scale these stony heights and vie for her affections.

Switching to cinematic black and white, the photographer captures another, even more dramatic image of Katherine gazing off into the distance, her expression communicating a profoundly romantic yearning. This too gives the model an angelic quality, positioned as she is between the earth and the sky.

An earlier post in this thread also featured an image of Katherine sitting atop the balustrade of her tower, but--fulfilling an earnest wish on the part of the model's admirers--Sassy Mouth has now released a closer photograph of Miss Roll in this position, which shows her figure to delectable advantage. The lace of the dress cradles the curves along the model's back. Her facial features appear especially rounded, her neck sensually soft. Her immaculate arms are as shapely as ever. The dress acknowledges seductive fullness around her middle. Her golden braid trails over the battlement, as if in invitation to the lovesick admirers gazing up at her from below. She sits, content and self-satisfied, with a grin pressing her lips, as if she had very deliberately positioned herself on the balustrade to display her curvy physique most seductively.

The following image shows Miss Roll behind two flower girls who carpet the way for our full-figured Rapunzel, dropping petals on the ground before her as she parades in all of her stately majesty. The girl in pink is especially adorable, and surely, when she gazes in awe upon this full-figured Rapunzel, she recognizes Katherine as a living princess from one of her storybooks, and dreams that when she grows up she might possess some of her beauty. Katherine thus becomes an ideal role model, enshrining positive body image in the hearts of young girls just such as these, who would otherwise be brainwashed into envying the appearance of minus-size models, but who, in gazing upon the superior beauty of Miss Roll, realize that full-figured femininity is far more attractive.

And finally, Sassy Mouth has also released a second variation on the mirror theme. Seeing a picture of the model framed in this manner is highly appropriate, as it intimates Miss Roll's status as a living work of ark, her image framed just as a painting of Venus by Titian or Rubens might be. The exquisite props in the image prompt us to encourage every reader to view the original page featuring the shoot (linked below) at the photographer's site, SassyMouth.net, which includes many more pictures of the captivating setting, set design, flower girls, etc., all harmonizing in a presentation of a Rapunzel-themed wedding with an enchanting Old World aesthetic.

Words scarcely suffice to convey the brilliance of this photo series. A gorgeous and genuinely full-figured model with blue eyes, fair skin, and golden tresses, dressed in a romantically feminine gown embellished with frills and ruffles, shot in an outdoor location amid Old World set elements, positioned against the backdrop of a Historicist castle-like structure--literally every element of the shoot is note-perfect, together comprising the finest plus-size model shoot yet produced.

Bravo to Sassy Mouth and her entire team (please read the full credits provided at the link, below). And special congratulations to Katherine Roll for surpassing even her own finest past work and setting a new standard in the presentation of timeless beauty.

Most. Perfect. Shoot. Ever.

It really is. I can't imagine a lovelier dress, or a nobler setting, or a more attractive hairstyle, or a more interesting theme, or a more gorgeous model. Usually, in full-figured fashion photography, you're lucky if you get even one of those elements. Here, they all come together.

It's like taking a glimpse into a more beautiful world, an alternative reality where timeless beauty is still the cultural ideal. If someone from the 19th century were to time-travel into the present and see these photos, they'd be looking at an aesthetic that they completely understand and appreciate.

This is my own favourite pic, for how it shows off Katherine's opulent waist, which looks natural and full, not compressed:

But I also adore this photo:

I love the fact that it shows off the soft fullness under the model's chin - a trait that too many curvy girls are still self-conscious about, but which is actually a very sensual and feminine feature.

Oh, and all plus-size models should grow out their tresses to this length...

I strongly agree with the proposition that this may be the loveliest photo shoot ever. I'd love to see Katherine or Sophie Sheppard or Kelsey Olson appear in more fairy-tale-themed projects. They have the kind of Nordic beauty that is perfect for bringing to life the fables of the Brothers Grimm, which are part of our common childhood.

Speaking of fairy tales, I was quite taken, not only with the beauty of Katherine and her dress in this shoot, but also with that stupendous tower. I became curious if in Germany, the land of fairy-tales, there might be a source or an original for the idea of a Rapunzel castle.

It turns out that just about every tower of any sort in Germany has been, at one point or another, dubbed that of Rapunzel. However, here are a few that have a better claim to fame than most.

In the tiny village of Amönau, this modest but very pretty, half-timbered structure is sometimes called the Rapunzelturm.

Why? Because one of the most famous illustrators of the Brothers Grimm tales used it as the model for Rapunzel's hideaway, as seen here in the original illustration.

- - - -

In the town of Lindau, at the southernmost tip of Germany, on the Bodensee, there stands a structure called the Diebsturm, or Thieves' Tower, an old part of the town's fortifications which got its name because it functioned for years as a prison. With its Gothic windows and roof, it does recall a fairy-tale fantasy, so the town suspended a Rapunzel braid from its window and rechristened it the Rapunzelturm.

- - - -

The Germany castle known as Burg Trendelburg probably has the most established link with the tale of Rapunzel, as a stop on Germany's "Fairy-Tale Road."

The castle really is a fine structure, seen here to great effect at night.

The courtyard looks especially romantic at night, by moonlight, as if in a Caspar David Friedrich painting.

This castle too has suspended a blonde braid from one of its towers and called that edifice the Rapunzelturm.

- - - -

And finally, perhaps the loveliest structure now associated with Rapunzel lies within the Märchengarten, or Fairy-Tale Garden, of the Ludwigsburg palace, the grandest existing Baroque castle in Germany (ever since the Königliche Schloß in Berlin was so tragically destroyed by the communists, after the war).

Now called the Rapunzelturm, it was originally dubbed the Emrichsburg, deliberately created to resemble a noble medieval ruin. The young princess's blonde braid, with its distinctive red ribbon, depends from the battlements, awaiting a daring young suitor.

I love how Katherine's Germanic beauty so successfully embodies the fairy-tale world of the Brothers Grimm. No minus-size waif could do justice to this princess of dream and fable, but the most gorgeous plus-size models bring to life the longing for enchantment that we all cherish in our hearts.

I've returned to this thread time and again. I can't take my eyes off these pictures. They're like something from a storybook, but miraculously, they're real. Katherine is the epitome of a fairy-tale princess. She's by far the most beautiful plus-size model, and my own favourite. Every shoot she does is amazing, but this one is in a league of its own.

So true! As I was browsing online, I found the image of an old German postage stamp which shows exactly that moment from the original tale: the evil Mother Gothel trying to deprive Rapunzel of her beauty by cutting short her golden tresses, while Rapunzel attempts to protect her beauty by saving her long blonde hair from the wicked crone.

These days, Mother Gothel could stand for any of the warped modern hairstylists and fashionistas who try to androgynize women and turn them into man-repellers by promoting short, butch cuts.

In order to be most feminine and most beautiful, girls should grow out their hand long and lovely. The old wisdom in these fairy-tales still holds true.

The praise for Katherine Roll's stunning Rapunzel shoot continues unabated. Real Size Bride, the company that produced the gorgeous dress which she wore for her shoot, just posted a Web log entry about the photo session.

http://realsizebride.com/blog/rapun...ss-photo-shoot/

In addition to a host of enthusiastic text, it features an image that has not yet been released. It's similar to the second photograph in this thread, but slightly different, with less of the tower and more of the cobblestones on display, and a subtly different expression from Katherine, more imperious and majestic.

I never thought I'd seen a photo shoot more gorgeous than this Rapunzel series -- but based on the teaser photos that have been posted, Katherine's newest test might somehow, impossibly, even surpass it. And nothing else ever could!

An important part of the creative team behind any successful photo shoot is the cosmetics artist, and in the case of this Rapunzel series--which vies with Katherine Roll's recent apple-orchard escapade as the most beautiful plus-size-model photo shoot of all time--the makeup was provided by Conneticut-based Krystalized Designs.

That cosmetics artist has now posted several thrilling behind-the-scenes photos showing the making of this acclaimed Rapunzel shoot, and true to form, Miss Roll looks every bit as gorgeous in these candid snapshots as she does in the professional, published photographs.

This image captures her at the moment when she adopts the exciting lunging-forward pose praised earlier in this thread. The contrast between the dark, stone archway and her ivory dress is captivating, yet the gown, the Historicist tower, and Katherine's feminine figure harmonize in a presentation of Old World beauty.

A closer view highlights the unsurpassable perfection of Katherine's well-fed physique, from her luscious, full arms (so robust and fleshy), to her buxom voluptuousness, to--most desirable of all--the luxurious fullness of her 38" waist, which strains seductively against the fabric of her gown. Her goddesslike figure has made Katherine the most beautiful and popular of all plus-size models. Note too her stunning hairstyle--a thick, heavy braid, and a touch of volume atop her head, like crown of golden hair, which so vividly resembles the hairstyle that Disney has given Elsa, the Snow Queen, in the forthcoming film, Frozen. Surely Katherine was the inspiration for Disney's newest princess.

Another behind-the-scenes photograph shows Katherine with Marisa Balletti-Lavoie, the Sassy Mouth photographer who captured the model's beauty in this unforgettable series. This model/photographer team has always had a special report and unfailingly creates magic together.

Looking closer, Katherine's loveliness simply staggers belief. It doesn't seem possible that any mortal goddess could be so gorgeous. This angle emphasizes the womanly allure of her sumptuous, 49" hips. Her arms, shaped to perfection by natural fullness, free of any trace of unsightly muscle tone, are as smooth and rounded as the limbs of a Classical statue of Venus herself. The wind teases and tousles Katherine's golden locks, just as an ardent admirer would wish to do. Even her angelic facial features look rich and replete.

Yet another candid snapshot reveals that although the images create the impression that Katherine shot on an idyllic day, in fact the New England weather was quite chilly. (This gives the shoot's Frozen associations a whole new meaning.)

What a testament it is to Miss Roll's talent and professionalism that in not a single one of the published, professional photographs does any hint of discomfort darken her features; rather, she appears serene and relaxed, creating a mood of languid pleasure that is wondrous to behold. Observe, in this image, the overwhelmingly sensual sight of a swell of round fullness at the model's waist, shaping the dress into a desirable form.

And finally, this behind-the-scenes picture testifies to the talent of Ms. Balletti-Lavoie. Amateur photographers know that getting good results by shooting into the sun is difficult bordering on impossible, yet thanks to her skilful use of the reflector dish and her professional technique, she managed to create a profusion of masterpieces, regardless of lighting conditions.

These candid pictures indicate that Sassy Mouth Photography deserves an extra note of commendation, for in none of the professional, published photographs has Katherine Roll's goddesslike figure been diminished in any way. She appears just as curvy in those pictures as she does in these true-to-life snapshots. No wonder this photo shoot has been so universally acclaimed.

And what praise can suffice to honour the Katherine's beauty and talent? She is the most gorgeous plus-size model working today, and her shoots set the standard by which all other models are judged. If there was ever a fairy-tale princess come to life, it is the lovely Miss Roll.
