Default Penningtons: "Turning Heads" commercial

Some models have an affinity for video that surpasses even their print work. Georgia Pratt (Muse Models NY, 42-34-48) may be one such case.

Yesterday, Penningtons debuted an eye-catching video in which Georgia (dressed at first in a grey blouse that demonstrates her voluptuousness) enters a retail-store change room and, a moment later, emerges (now dressed in an alluringly ultra-snug skirt that defines her womanly hips and attractively rounded middle) in her office space, then does a catwalk toward a desk, earning glances of envy from her less richly curvaceous female co-workers and looks of desire from her male cohorts.

The commercial is quite pro-curvy because both of the model's outfits (her initial casual attire, which shows off her buxom curves, and her later, Penningtons outfit, which conforms with such sensual tightness to her hips and midsection) celebrate rather than hide her well-built figure, and because the model's attitude is shown to be beyond confident, exhibiting true vanity and seductive self-adoration.

Although Georgia's commercial surpasses her print work, several images from her online portfolio do deserve notice. This picture in particular is easily the finest she has ever created, and is a remarkable example of pure size celebration. The glimpse of the curve of fullness peeking out from beneath her blouse is heart-racingly sensual, for there is no physical feature more alluring than undulations of flesh along a model's back. This is a natural trait for well-fed goddesses to possess, so plus-size models who showcase this attractive characteristic do wonders in naturalizing the relationship that full-figured women have with their bodies.

The next image shows Georgia in a casual top similar to the one that she wears in the first shot of the Penningtons video. The outfit is simple, but it realizes the most crucial necessity in plus-size photography: it defines the model's physique, from her ample voluptuousness to her reverse-view curves.

The following intimate-apparel image rather clinically exhibits the model's proportions. Her generous hips give her figure a womanly form, though one always wishes for plus-size models to exhibit fullness at the waist as well.

Interestingly, sometimes a less-disrobed state can actually be more alluring than a fully unclothed image. Here, the model achieves seductiveness simply by the way in which the open robe discloses her buxom richness.

When a model has contemporary rather than timeless features, the best results are often achieved by introducing natural elements into the photograph, to soften the overall effect. Observe how much beauty this picture generates simply by setting Georgia amid lush greenery rather than in a bare studio, though the physical effect of discreet voluptuous exhibition is similar to that in the previous photograph.

Another way in which the femininity of a contemporary-looking model can be enhanced is by adding traditional, princess-like accessories, such as this beautiful crown of flowers.

Another image of Georgia sporting this beautiful coronet of blossoms exhibits a fine physical detail: subtle creases of flesh at her neck-and-shoulder area: lovely, natural characteristics that should never be airbrushed away, for they give a model's look a tangible reality.

This well-styled photograph may have been what brought Georgia to mind at Penningtons when the company was looking for a model to showcase the outfit seen in its new commercial. It shows her with a splendidly tight-fitting skirt, so snug that it defines an attractive swell of roundness at her middle. The blouse shows off her buxom contours.

And finally, a sensual image of the model in naught but a sweater and intimate apparel demonstrates, once again, how a little more clothing can sometimes be more seductive than less, in that it suggests rather than reveals.

Very nice work by Penningtons and Georgia Pratt in the new "Turning Heads" commercial, which should give female viewers a discernible confidence boost. And bravo to the model in particular for the first print photograph shown above, the bare-back image, which represents size celebration at its finest.

(However, one still misses Sophie Sheppard at Penningtons, for Miss Sheppard's campaign for this label just a couple of seasons ago remains one of the finest plus-size fashion promotions ever created.)
