Default Lindsey: Prom in full bloom

Prom season is coming fast upon us (or at least, prom-promotion season is), and perhaps the most eagerly-awaited of all of this year's bridal or prom campaigns is Lindsey Garbelman's new series for Aurora Formals.

Last year, Lindsey's campaign caused an absolute sensation on this forum, and this year's series is, if anything, even more gorgeous, and Lindsey herself looks more stunning and goddesslike than ever.

Lindsey rivals both Christina Schmidt and Kelsey Olson as the most exciting junior-plus model in the industry today. She possesses the full, rounded facial features that both Western art and modern science have established as the pinnacle of essential feminine beauty,

as well as a shapely, pear-shaped figure that conforms perfectly to the Classical womanly ideal.

If the plus-size industry today were as developed as the straight-size fashion world, then Lindsey--like Christina and Kelsey--would be among the world's top "hot young supermodels," appearing on the covers of of Vogue Plus, or Victorian Vogue, or whatever titles the full-figure fashion periodicals would possess.

But there is so much more to Lindsey than just supermodel looks and ideally curvaceous proportions.

She also possesses a superlative gift for posing, an ability to transmit the vibrant energy of her personality in every single image that she creates.

There is a certain degree of mischief, or even playfulness in some of her images that distinguishes them from the work of any other plus-size model.

But at the same time, Lindsey demonstrates a remarkable ability to adopt a more dignified and regal attitude, whenever the image calls for it--an elegant bearing that says to the viewer--or to the prom date--"Worship me, now!" (an exhortation with which he readily and eagerly complies).

Most interesting of all, in some images, Lindsey adopts an expression that seems more reflective and intimate, even vulnerable. And how fitting that she reveals this softer side of her character when modelling a uniquely angelic dress, thus adapting her pose to the outfit, in the tradition of the very best models.

One also has to say that, if a model is going to be awarded a single campaign, then a prom-wear promotion is the best that she could possibly hope for. If bridal campaigns are the richest fruits of the fashion world, then prom campaigns are its most tender blossoms--its most beautiful and feminine artistic expressions. And, as these images vividly remind us, formal gowns are absolutely made for plus-size figures, for no malnourished waif could ever fill out a dress as can young vixens with curves like Lindsey's.

Lindsey's 2006 prom promotion is sure to surpass the expectations of even her most ardent fans. With facial features as full and soft as Shannon Marie's, and a figure as opulently-proportioned as Barbara Brickner's, Lindsey is without a doubt one of the most exciting rising stars in the modelling world today. We can only hope that the future will provide her with ever-more-prominent campaigns, so that the public will see even more of her, and thereby rediscover the timeless ideal of feminine beauty that Lindsey embodies to perfection.

Lindsey is just too pretty for words. After last year's campaign, I was really hoping to see her again. She represents exactly waht people wish ALL plus-size models would look like - a visibly curvy figure and a face that's amazingly beautiful, but is soft rather than thin. Can you imagine how much good the plus-size industry could do if all the fashion chains used models like Lindsey? Full-figured girls everywhere would really start to believe in their own beauty, rather than criticizing themselves (or others) according to narrow mass-media standards.

I really have to applaud this company for using such a perfect plus-size model. And I also have to say that their dresses are even prettier than last year. Sleeveless, strapless or halter styles, and some really pretty color schemes as well. I'm betting this year will see a lot more curvy prom-goers than ever before.

When I look at Lindsey, who is SO curvy, SO gorgeous, I just cant believe that every single full-figured fashion retailer isnt falling over themselves to use her in their campaigns. I mean, THIS is the textbook definition of plussize beauty. She has such a womanly figure, but she is still young, so she has that "cute" factor going on, too. Her face matches the beauty of any other model. I know that always modelling promwear gives her an advantage over other models, because those dresses look SO good on her, but still, just look at her lively expressions. Her pictures have so much energy.

I think the skinny girls should just stay home from prom this year, because they will be upstaged by curvy girls like Lindsey, all over the country.

My only (tiny) criticism of the Aurora Formals dresses is that the backs are almost always too high. The most alluring dress designs have really low-cut backs. Otherwise, they look terrific.
