Looking at these images--which are photographs of the location in which Nadia's cover images were shot--one would think that Torrid has flown its creative team to the Near East, to some exotic locale in Morocco, or Marakesh:

Indeed, the images exemplify the Neo-Orientalism that we saw earlier this year, in campaigns from Mk One, and from Saks--and last year, from Elena Miro and Addition-Elle--which revived the style and subject matter of 19th-century painters of the Orientalist school, such as Jean-Leon Gerome and Rudolf Enrst.

The colours are deep and rich, the abundant pillows betoken repose and relaxation--everything in these settings conveys a mood of opulence, exoticism, and decadence.

But surprising as it may be, Nadia's dreamlike covers were actually shot in California--in a hotel called the Figueroa (linked below), which prides itself on cultivating an Orientalist ambience, right in the heart of L.A. The above images suggest that is succeeds admirably in doing so.

Bravo to Torrid for finding a location that evokes the spirit of a distant realm, without leaving the confines of their "shooting territory," and for matching the exotic beauty of their cover model with an equally lush setting.
