I'm from the southern U.S., though I'm living up north right now while I'm in school. I have noticed that men down South are more accepting of women with voluptuous bodies. I see lots more skinny women up here. I think it partially comes from the tradition of "Southern cookin'" where you're expected to eat heartily. Anyway, it's great!
