I wish to applaud Mr. Krosinski for taking such a principled stance- and for sharing the details of this incident. For many of us, this is a rare look behind the scenes of media power. It shows exactly how the sickly-thin standard is kept in place. Faced with a situation like this, most magazines or television shows no doubt just roll over and do an ad agency's bidding. If more publications stood up to them (on behalf of full-figured women), they would be forced to change. The next step will be for someone to create an ad agency that specifically gathers curve-friendly ad content aimed at plus-size women and pairs it with magazines like Beautiful. If this one prejudiced agency doesn't want the business, let someone else get it.
