"Plus-size chic"

Im still really disillusioned about magazines in general ever since I read "Spin Sisters", but a friend told me about something in the new issue of InStyle magazine that I thought Id pass on here. Theres an article called "Elements of Style" about the big fashion movements of the last ten years, and "plus-size chic" was one of them - "PLUS-SIZE CHIC (n): self-esteem movement headed by plus-size model Emme that went big time with Lane Bryants 1997 runway show." Its nice to hear. Too bad the rest of the magazine doesnt show even one single example of "plus-size chic". But I like the idea of "plus-size chic" a lot- especially as an alternative to "heroin chic", and "anorex-chic", and every other kind of "starvation chic" the fashion industry keeps giving us........
