I guess the big news for the last two days is that Old Navy has launched a new plussize clothing department. I have a link here to a USA Today story about it, but there are a lot of other articles just like it.

I really like the positive tone of the article. Instead of anti-plus comments about "epidemics", or any backhanded insults, the story is given a totally upbeat tone. And its nice to see them consciously going after the junior plus market, which is usually ignored.

Its also nice to see the high visibility Old Navy has given this launch. But best of all, theyre using a real plussize model to promote the line - thats Ivana from Ford, who is a size 14, right? My only criticism is that for the article and for the cover page of the plus line at the Old Navy site, they put her in some really boring outfits! A lot of the other Old Navy plus stuff is a lot more exciting.

Anyway, Im glad another store is giving plus sizes some attention.
