It's interesting that the Prince of Wales should once again come up as a topic of discussion on this forum. Long-time readers will remember that the Prince's aesthetic theories once formed the core of a post titled "HRH The Prince of Wales--An Ally" (linked below), which concerned the ongoing war between timeless beauty and modernism in architecture, and how it related to our own topic.

That essay was notable for a number of reasons--not the least of which is because it marked the first time that Valerie Lefkowitz's images ever appeared at The Judgment of Paris.

At the time, we noted Charles's aesthetic beliefs simply because they paralleled the discussions that frequently appear here. We never imagined that someday, he would actually offer a favourable comment pertaining to plus-size beauty itself. What a pleasant surprise.

If only we still lived in the days when a monarch's predispositions determined the beliefs of his subjects . . .
