The media bombards real women with unrealistic images of women (models and celebrities) who represent only a few of their kind in the real world. While this is what the media forces into the minds of real women, science sees it otherwise. An article entitled Survival of the Prettiest, (which ironically came from Cosmopolitan Philippines) a study conducted by Devendra Singh, a psychologist from the University of Texas found " that men preferred curvy women with normal weight than stick-figured females." and according to Newsweek, "the extra fat around the hips is a biological sign tha a woman is fertile, and even though a woman's capability doesn't solely depend on a woman vital stats, it was proven that men aren't just looking for women to be their girl friend but for someone who can bear children."

Long ago when media is not yet in existence, Paleolithic men highly prized curvy women because these kind of women signify plenty, well-being and the ability to survive hard times.
