The point about Lane Bryant putting its money into other promotions is well made. Did anyone care about the LB Cacique shows because Kathy Najimy was on the runway, or because Kiss was playing, or because Roseanne did stand up? No one - except the press. For everybody else, it was always about the gorgeous models.

I think Lane Bryant looks for celebrities because the MEDIA follows celebs, and reports on whatever they're doing. So the company possibly wants press coverage by association.

But I'll bet a lot of LB customers don't really care what Hollywood stars are endorsing. They come to Lane Bryant for beautiful clothes showcased on beautiful models - not for star power.
