I was in a Dress Barn Woman store today, and I don't think your romantic fantasy was too far off the mark. There was a poster featuring Valerie from this same campaign, except she had straight hair, and was dressed in a dark ruby-red outfit. She was looking right at the camera like she was bewitching it, and the poster had a caption which read, "Dreaming of starstruck nights filled with romance and glamour". The allusion to amour is intentional.

I like the campaign a lot. Too bad DBW doesn't do television promotion, like JMS does. The romantic interlude would have made for a good TV spot.
