I have tremendous respect for anyone who was a plus-size model in those days. Although there is still some resistance to larger models, it must have been a lot worse back then. I bet there actually were photographers who refused to shoot them. And if someone asked them what they did for a living, and they called themselves models, people probably didn't even believe them, no matter how gorgeous they were. Before Emme, few people had ever heard of plus-size modeling.

I think we're all indebted to those trailblazers. And it's amazing to think that we're talking about the fashion industry of just one decade ago. We've come a long way, even though there is still a long way to go.
