I've learned through the net the reactions of people on the Emme Doll both good and "bad". At my first glance, I find it enlighetening because I'm looking at a doll with realistic female proportions, it pictures what a girl really looks like when she grows up even there's one diet guru who commented that the doll encourages little girls to lead an unhealty lifestyle. What he means that it's not okay if little girls begin to think of themselves to grow as beautiful as Emme- as a woman with curves but on one hand parents would like to buy their little girls the Emme Doll because it represents true beauty and it is attainable unlike the 36-18-32 proportions of a Barbie Doll. They think it will serve as a learning tool for little girls to appreciate themselves. For many years, I've been collecting Barbie dolls and those of her likes and they all come in the same mold but I don't think there would be a girl or a woman who would be born as exactly like Barbie. When I saw the Emme doll, it looks like a modern version of a small sculpture of Venus that my family has at home- voluptuous and has the right female proportions but then Emme let her daughter play with both dolls so she can already have an idea that people come in different shapes and sizes. Yet the Emme doll is unique- it's a replica of a healthy and a happy woman who loves and enjoys herself. I wonder if there would be more curvaceous dolls like Emme's that would enter the market. This will be of great help to little girls everywhere.
