I know they're "just movies", but they've also made a pretty significant cultural (pop cultural?) impact. From the opulent styles of the Elves, to the more folkloric styles of the Shire, fashion seems to have moved a bit in that direction. Maybe it's just that the films have introduced a lot of people to styles that are historically based, and fashions from previous centuries were generally more curve-friendly and feminine than 20th-century styles. |
