That article puts it so well - "By definition, a goddess is a woman whose great charm or beauty arouses adoration." And whats wrong with that? I never understood why some people tried to make "arousing adoration" unfashionable.

I think there is something really sweet about traditional courtship, and it doesnt surprise me that Jane Austen movies and other period pieces have become so popular. Besides, I never understood the idea that women werent equal partners in those relationships. If anything, I think the opposite is true - its the goddess who has the power over the man who worships her, just as the muse has the power over the artist she inspires.
