The other day, I saw a program on the Life Network about a fellow who'd had a terrible disfigurement from birth. It was sad how it had affected his life. I was curious, and did a little research, and it turns out that no one knew the cause of this disfigurement - which apparently affects a substantial number of individuals.
All I could think of was, if at least SOME of the money that's being pumped into shoring up highly questionable "diet research" went into something important like this, maybe doctors would have found the cause - and the cure - by now. THIS kind of research could really help people live better lives - instead of trying to convince the women of America that they just don't starve themselves sufficiently.
But I bet there's more *money* in diet research. And so it goes......
