That headshot is definitely my favorite from among Valerie's new test images. It reminds me of her Nordstrom series, and her Real Simple beauty photo. I adore the "fair" look, and I certainly agree that her appeal is timeless in the truest sense of the word.

I don't blame Valerie for going in a different direction with her other new test images, since her commercial work is well known. And I do find the new "Valerie by Night" headshot thrilling and passionate. It's a close call. But for my part, I adore her most when she is shown in a very natural way. She looks so lovely when she is allowed to look fresh and radiant.

It's interesting. In many ways, Valerie really is in a class of her own, and her greatest competition whenever creating new images is with other examples of her own work. That she nevertheless manages to create remarkably original tests that visit new territory, or explore previous strengths in novel ways, is a tribute to her abilities.
