The most important function of a model's Web site is that it provides an effective "frame" for her images, and the newly-redesigned MelissaKing.com is quite successful in that regard. The images themselves are scanned at a much larger size than before, and the dark background frames them very nicely.

Some of Ms. King's headshots are considerably stronger than others. The longer hair makes all the difference in the world, and the recent tests with Hilary Duff eye makeup are very good,

although the vivid cover shot surpasses them all, and does leave one eager to see the rest of that interesting outfit.

Melissa's real strength is her gorgeous figure, which one sees in the Gloria Vanderbilt denim ad, and in the fine tear sheet from the latest issue of Figure, showing the model in a knee-length skirt (p. 12 of the online portfolio).

Incidentally, MelissaKing.com was designed by a company called "Indigo 6" (linked below). If one visits the "First Class High Bandwidth" section of the company's own site, one is treated to a Flash video showing Ms. King performing as a Max Headroom-type digital stewardess, called "Vicky," who guides the visitor through the different sections. It's a treat to see Melissa in living motion, and to actually hear her speak.
