I think what distinguishes the "new" femininity from the old idea of a simple dress is, frankly, how all-out sexy the new styles are. Well, sexy on a woman WITH curves, anyway. It's a coy kind of sexiness, too - which is the best kind.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but just think what Mode would have done with these sensual fashions, if it was still around. It would have shown everybody that these styles BELONG on plus-size models, and put Vogue and W and Marie Claire to shame.
