I think the "beautiful idea" at Fashion Bug was deciding to use Valerie. I defy anyone to look at those pics and not feel a little bit better about the world we live in. I was always a big fan of FB's ads, and I remember how exciting it was to see Yanderis, Kati, Anna, etc. on the cover of the site, week after week. I always hoped that Fashion Bug would use Valerie someday.
As for the "Gap ad", I think we WILL see Gap using plus-size models sooner or later, especially depending on how well the Old Navy Plus experiment goes. In fact, just as there are "Gap Kids" and "Baby Gap" stores right now, I bet we'll see "Gap Plus" outlets in malls across the country, someday.
