I would love to see a Lane Bryant runway show, *if* the company adopted the use of actual plus-size models, the way it did in its last one in 2003, and expanded on the Goddess theme that was the highlight of that show. How incredible would it be to see Valerie, Charlotte C., Barbara Brickner, etc. on the runway, evoking truly feminine fantasy.
Make it for the customers and the fans!---not for the media, which disparages plus-size beauty anyway.
And speaking of goddesses, I am finding that the "spring maiden" theme that we see in the new Lane Bryant image is another timeless archetype. There are many art masterpieces evoking this theme, as HSG noted, but I also found this image, from a postcard of around 1900.
