The point about the so-called medical authority is interesting. "Professor William"- sure.
We look back on this sort of thing and dismiss it as snake oil and junk science. But I wonder how many people realize that 100 years from now, people will look back on the diet doctors (the "Dr Phils") of today, and on their weight scare tactics, and consider it all just as silly. Too many people are too easily conned, then as now- the cons just get more sophisticated.
